I've recently accepted the Rastafarian way of life as my way of life.  I am a 23 year old decendant of Mother Africa wombman, who resides in Birmingham,AL.  I have researched Rastafarian "religion" for years and my heart of hearts knows that I have been a blessed child of Jah since my creation.  As a child I was raised in AME,BME,CME Christian churches which are some what similar as far as values and morals.  My concern is that I not be misguided in this my practice and to prevent such I must locate elders and be more involved in reasonings via internet or interpersonally.  If there is any guidance my brethren and sistren can give I would be greatly obliged.  Jah Bless!! And thank you for your time

The I seems to know the path already Empress. Reasoning is a must for I and I development and thanks to the internet it isn't as hard to find as it would be otherwise. Still, face to face Reasoning will always be better. Along with Reasoning, I and I must learn through other means also but it seems the I has already been reading. Iman would guess the I is already familiar with the Bible and through the I's research, some of the works of King Selassie I and Marcus Garvey so perhaps the I is better prepared than most of those who come round here asking about Rasta. Keep that up and the I can't go wrong.

Blessed love.

Somehow I had replied to this posting before...but I unintentionally deleted it (my mistake)....I take that for a sign to not post what I wanted to sayin the way I put it (it was not bad or negative)...Anyway I will try and reconstruct it soon...

Now...back to reconstruction - what I said before was something like this. The MESSAGE is a puzzle that every individual needs to seek for him or her self. Life is that puzzle. Life can not be found in a Bible or Koran which are just mere books. Life is more than a book.
Rasta tends to get stuck on a bible or koran that is just a copy of the truth.

It all starts in Africa sistren but, take a good look at that very culture. It is the beginning. It spread out to many nations and every nation has a piece of it. Seek for the ROOTS of every native culture that speaks of life and where it began. Get the "good" out of it and combine that with yourself - that is you. But ! It will be incomplete because in order for mankind to overstand all of this mankind (She/He) would have to live many, many, lives. The real aim tough - is getting to know one self - in a true and very incomprehensible manner. Like I said before - many many, lives you have to live.

The ONE who holds the TRUTH is incompressible and therefor none will be able to give you a satisfactory explanation about HIM/HER. Rasta can and will direct you to it but, the rest is up to you. Learn the foundations and then you can get to learn yourself. Put the pieces of the "puzzle" together, for you and only you and then do not stop there ! Move on....

Rasta has stopped at the bible - not all but, many - just like all other religions. That is why there is no further movement. Rasta was stronger before than it is now and I do not mean according to "followers". Followers do not interest I. LIVE-ERS (those that live it) are few. Talkers are many. Claimers too. But the progress will show you that there has been no progress for a long time !!

Followers is not progress !! Excuse me for the explanation marks....

Sister look to more than just the claimed rasta - look to life ! Maybe I am getting too emotional...that is just me.

Look to china, japan, inca, zulu, yoruba, egypt, sumeria, and many many more if you want to know what real RASTA see - that is the puzzle that all choose to ignore. The real puzzle of life.

I am proud to call I self Rasta - why ? - Because I am in the position to be what I claim to be and still so far away from it !
