Rasta is a way of life, I don't see why the color of skin makes a difference.   If the color of skin matters then wouldn't it be a negative thing for a black and white couple to have children?

Who is to say a white man has not gone through more suffering and judgement than the black man, for another reason.

If you are to say that it's more likely for blue eye people to succumb to disease than brown eye, because science shows.  .  .   is that any different than realizing there are different tendencies between blacks and whites.   But that does not make one inferior to the other, because we are all one.

For example, a skin color could possibly make you less likely to absorb dangerous types of radiation.   But a white man could do everything in his power to prevent radiation damage and become less "tainted" with the poison than a black man.

Yes Rasta is a way of life - made by who ? Color of skin does not matter but, raspect is due. Due unto who ? It is diss- ras- pect, and a very BIG insult, for those who claim to be Rasta and, at the same time have no overstanding of Rasta "ORIGINS" - regardless of color !

ONE MAIN THING...ONE BOILING POINT...IS ... IT IS A BLACK MAN/WOMBMAN - BLACK WOMBMAN/MAN LIBERATION !! AT THE VERY FIRST POINT !!

That is the very first REASON why RASTA exist. Excuse my exlamation marks in my text - it is not anger I am just blazing the fyah that is called "truth" and I man KNOW that only those who are refined can get the mess - age out of it.

I am not talking "radiation" here ! Rasta nah deal inna dat - so me have nothing fe say bout dat.

All who can not give "credit" - or are too proud to give "credit" unto this BLACK TRADITION that is a JAH GIVEN BLESSING/LIBERATION UNTO THE BLACK PEOPLE (who were so kind to spread it to the whole world, out of JAH love and, were not too greedy to keep it for themselves) have no future in RASTA.

You can not accept the fruit of a tree without raspecting its ROOTS. Simple as that !

So you may be able to follow, dream, and believe to be RASTA but, without that ISTORY of RASTA and, a true dedication and, TRUE HEART of RASTA (with ALL that is involved in IT - and not just what you choose out of it) - then, keep on dreaming....

There is more to it than you can ever believe to see...

Sorry for putting it this way but, I like to say it like it is and not "beat around the bush".

P.S. my friend..

I know enough to know that radiation would burn "white" skin more than it would "black" - Wanna know why ? Before we get to "burning point" we "absorb and filter out" my friend. That is why we can go out in the sun and get no sun burn ! And the same time you would get one...Seen ?

Don't believe all that babylon teach you - learn to be independent and think for your self. Common sense....

Give thanks for the Reasoning Prophet. Plenty of truth in those words.

Brings to I mind these words from His Majesty:

“The temple of the Most High begins with the human body which houses life, the essence of our existence.
Africans are in bondage today because they approach spirituality through religion provided by foreign invaders and
conquerors. We must stop confusing religion and spirituality. Religion is a set of rules, regulation and rituals created
by humans, which were supposed to help people grow spiritually. Due to human imperfection religion has become
corrupt, political, divisive and a tool for power struggle. Spirituality is not theology or ideology. It is simple 'a way of
life', pure and original as was given by the Most High of creation. Spirituality is a network linking us to the Most
High, the universe and each other. As the essence of our existence, it embodies our culture, true identity, nationhood
and destiny. A people without a nation that they can really call their own is a people without a soul. Africa is our
nation and is in spiritual and physical bondage because their leaders are turning to outside forces for solutions to
African problems when everything Africa needs is within her. When Africa righteous people come together the world
will come together. This is our divine destiny.”

- His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I

No man who doesn't know the Root and foundation of RastafarI will ever prosper under I and I name.

Blessed love.

EXACTLY !!!!!

Is there anything more that a "wombman/man" can say over the words of HE who IS ??
I and I KING seh and rule it (just like Nazarite revealed!!!) So, who are you (those of you who "try" to) fe challenge it ??

Common sense right here - and - if you nah have it then you betta stay off it.....

Now, now, now "they" have learnt something new again and, then tomorrow, them wanna act like them know more than us...LOL.

Babylon will stay babylon and Rasta can define who who is...

I love it when them call out "rasta!!" or, claim to be RASTA, without having a clue of WHO (WHAT) RASTA IS. Foolish....

According to scholarly research, HIM Haile Selassie I never said these words.  RheddaJ has discussed this quote in other threads here.

Here's a link to more information http://www.rastaites.com/news/feedforward/speech.htm

For more confirmation contact the Crown Council of Ethiopia, who have labored to correct the wrong attribution of this quote to the Emperor: http://www.ethiopiancrown.org/

If that is the truth then forgive I ignorance on the matter. Still, even if the quote is not directly attributable to His Majesty, I think it is still in line with the teachings of the King.

I will read through the link the I posted tomorrow when I've not just got back from four hours of traveling and hopefully that will shed some light on the matter.

Blessed love.

His Majesty teaches of the evils of colonialism, and the imposition of colonial religions is a huge part of that. So it wouldn't surprise I if His Majesty had said those words.

Still, the I seems to be right that there is no original source for the words. After reading the I's link, I think it is still possible they are the words of His Majesty, but since there seems to be no source it is also entirely possible that they aren't. Either way I think the words are still truth.

Blessed love.

8)Jah bless Rasta and Jah bless the black race! I understand some not wanting whites to "invade" Rasta.  Many whitessee Rasta as somthing positive.  A beautiful creation of the black race.  I live in New Orleans where blacks have made incredible contributions to the culture here.  A true faith teaches love for all.  It is hard to love all, but who says all is easy??? We all come from Jah and Africa.  Leave the wicked to the wicked. . .

For I, HIM already answered this question:

"...the colour of a man's skin is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes..."

I know that quote is used often, but InI can never have too much of truth.

...but as a rasta with white skin, I do overstand and respect that rasta started as a black liberation movement, out of the downpression of babylon.

To I there is no white or black rasta. How often does InI hear prophet Bob talk about black or white rasta?

Jah Bless

In answer to the question can a white man be rasta?

Any Person can be a Rasta, if they want to be, that's if they feel the livity and with that Overstanding, they live a conscious and wholesome life experience, why shouldn't they? Indeed the capacity to be righteous (Positive/Good), or unrighteous (Negative/Wicked), isn't based upon race or gender, or least it shouldn't be. It should be based on your works and actions, Indeed the whole notion of a chosen race is just propaganda that was spread by those agents of the system as they went about their process of divide and conquer on behalf of their masters. Using one's inherent critical faculties, ask your self the following question; Why would the Universal All knowing Consciousness decide to treat one set of people different to another? By using you intelligence you would soon arrive at the conclusion that It Wouldn't

The reasoning supplied by those in control is merely based upon foolishness, that in all honesty can only have emanated from a perverse and subjective mind. However, due to the brainwashing programme that has been deeply instilled in the vast majority, by centuries of violence and mis-education, by the system, people actually believe that the nonsense they are told, to be the truth (the word of god Shocked) and are therefore willing to carry out atrocities based on that kind of programming.

Indeed there is a world of difference between RASTAFARI; the Precursor to the knowledge of Universal Overstanding) and Rastafari the little religious doctrine based style/cult that some expound as an alternative to established religion. Anyway I'm starting to digress, so let's get back to the topic;
Another point that should be made regarding who can be Rasta, is that there is no one way to live the experience in terms of the material existence, i.e A Rasta residing let's say in Bronx USA, Manchester UK or Amsterdam in the Netherlands; will each have a different material existence compared to a Ras living somewhere hot (like JA, Trinidad or Gambia) and as such, some of the reasoning and indeed the livity may alter accordingly.

However, one aspect that resonates with all Rastafarians is H.I.M Selassie I, (albeit in differing levels of perceptions and perspectives) Some of the I, will tell you he is the living JAH (God), Whilst others will tell you that he is a returned Messiah, or a next set will even reason that he is simply a great King and a Symbol for Africans, in other-words, whatever, and however they feel that their perspective on the Universal Consciousness manifests itself within them.

However, to some; Rastafari is a concept, a way of life that is greater than simply a individual (even if that individual is the physical manifestation that embodies the principle that they adhere to) Indeed the concept/(way of life) is merely the pathway to the higher consciousness that lies beyond the physical realm, but yet is universal in its infinity. The religion that some attach to the way of life is neither here or there, in the scheme of things, because the great truth lies with in each of us and is waiting to express itself.

So let the reasoning really start;
