i read a ganja grow guide book and the writer was talking about his favourite strains and his favourite was Ethiopian Highland strain, this guy was a major grower and he is world famous, he gave a big discusion about the speech and said how haile selassie used to grow it in Shashamane.

As a member of 12 Tribes of Israel with Many close Brothers and sisters in Shashamane I shall indeed be keen to learn who the grower was that you speak of Ashly.
I know it grows all round the planet and is there for the healing of the nations.
Also Ethiopian Highland strain is a basic sativa with a long flowering season due to highlands genetics when brought to the flat lands of shashamane the heat is more intense and the resin production is increased but the care of the crop has to be increased as riskof over heating and wilting or burning is ever present. Today most of the crops have been standardized with a large amount of Jamaican cross breeds proving popular. I am awareof this as I am trying to build a seed bank there and have two bredren who have been granted 1400 Hectares in Awasa for Organic Growing and Farming. So we have studied fo rthe past year and more about the soil conditions and what is growing already and how it is effecting land or helping the land. I
To make a bold statement that HIM grew it and so forth requires me to ask for research materials to show in support.
I shall try contacting HIH Crown Prince Zara Yaqob Selassie I His Grandson.  I will also be asking The farmers I know in Ethiopia about this matter.

I like to imagine that As only HIM is Perfect that NOTHING would be required to enter HIM like ischense.

I like to ask personally of ones, do they really believe that The King of Kings would smoke like many of we do?

and the author is Mel Thomas who is an ex commercial grower who served time for cultivating over £2.5 million pounds worth of cannabis in the UK!
he is now living in holland.

the Refrence to Ethiopia highland strain and selasie is in the back where he discusses his favourite strain.

we must stay in contact simeon, i would love to help out working on an organic farm, i was planning on seting 1 up also.
im sorting doing a course in organic agriculture at the moment.

I am aware of Mr. Mel Frank and have also read most of his works inclusing the one you state. I think he is rather un reliable source in terms of HIM connection to the growing. As I say I will check with HIH The Crwon Prince for His Higher reasonings on the subject as wel as the elders who were there from the start when the land was given.
I do not think Mr. franks has much in common with his use of the herb and what Ones that go under the banner of Rastafari do. I can also be wrong. I will keep you posted about it.
Far too much attention to what is and what is not a given word causes dependancy on the secular world and I can't take that. To be of this world but not of this world. That is how I trod.

As for the Organic farming work in Awasa I will tll the Tribesmen that run it of your interest. Also will keep you posted if i hear from Wondo Genet and forestry office there as well as any horseman work.

Burning Spear once gave I good advice when we were in London together He said " Take Time with The herb. Take care to only smoke it after you have eaten and full your belly, to avoid cravings. Also at times do not use to avoid dependancy." I repsect Mr. Rodney as an artist of years and as a wisemind.

H.I.M didnt need to smoke, we smoke to bring us closer to JAH, but Haile Selassie being the elect of JAH would n't have a need for ganja to get close to JAH as he is as close as one can get.  

I tink that Rasta brothers who see H.I.M as JAH (father), would agree with me.

i overstand wat your saying idren but many rasta see H.I.M as Jah in human flesh, perfection in human flesh, it depends on your overstanding of Jah.
so why wouldnt a perfect man smoke herb?
it is of no harm to creation.
you could of said why did H.I.M need to eat, its same thing.
i dont think thats something that is just made up claiming selasie smoked the Ethiopian highland strain coming from a non rasta.

I hear ya'll... it's like, we smoke to get on a stress illeviated level. A level that makes us "high", H.I.M.'s wisdom does not need the holy herb, for he is always on that deep level i suppose. You feel me? HIM is always closer to Jah, then others.

People can theorize and guess if Selassie I smoked herb or not, but unless a person speaks to Selassie I, they don't know for sure.  Whatever people say, whether they say Selassie I smoked or didn't smoke, may sound like it makes sense; but there are many possible things that can make sense, but only one thing that is the reality.

What I can say is that I have experienced the usefulness of Ganja, so I Itinue to use Jah sacred herb.

and it mentiod empress zauditu growing it.
wethere its true or not.
this is what it said.

I seriously doubt Selassie I smoked herb. In an interview available at dubroom.org (recommended) the reporter states that he is against intoxicants. He was an Emperor, the King of Kings of Ethiopia in the first  half of the twentieth century. I doubt he sketched off for a quick joint round the back of the palace!  
I'm just jokin about, but seriously, he was regal and disciplined, thats my point.

I don't think Selassie smoked either, but those weren't really the best words to use, I don't think at least.

wat i read was that empress zauditu grew it, maybe it was for incese and oils.
