Impossible to answer.

Based on so many things;

why want to smoke in the fist place?
what physical age is the person?
what mental age is the person?
who will they be smoking with?
how much will they smoke?
what will they smoke?

Totally impossible to answer.

Some seek Rasta in their quest to really look for Ganja
Some Rasta find Ganja and then forget Rasta
Some just love ganja and hide behind Rasta

Either way, Rasta is Rasta and Ganja is Ganja.  Not the same thing.

Impossible and unwise for InI as a Rasta to answer this question.

Yes,Shawn is absolytely right.
I can't tell you when the best age is to start smoking ganja,but I can tell you my experience.I'm fifteen and I started maybe a year and a half ago,when I didnt even know the meaning of Rasta.I started gettin interested in Rasta when my friend mentioned it.
I thought:Cool,they are just high all the time and dont think or worry about anything,relax and dont do nothing.And I was terribly wrong.Rasta is about peace and spreading love among all as many on this forum helped me realize.Ganja is a good herb if not missused.
So my advise to anyone who want to start smoking,ask yourselves why you want to do it first

i started smoking and still do. it is amazing to me. i jhust listen to bob marley and connect with jah.  i am so close to him when i go on this journey ganja takes me on.  people who don't understand smoke it just to get high and party or whatever but i see it as a religious period where we can be closer to what is right.  My mom says i will go on to othre things more dangerous but i would never.  this herb is so healthy for my mind as some of you (who smoke it)would understand.  Love and Peace to all my neighbors.

InI smoke ganja like some smoke ciggarettes, --- a lot.

With that being said, InI started at the age of about 13 or 14, not religiously but occaisonally. This soon changed, as personally me loved the sensi with all I hearts content. Therefore InI premote it, but not for all. Some claim to be illergic, others cannot reason, just sit on couch and eat peanut butter until they pass out.

InI very philosophical, and reason all the time. Either smoking by myself and talking to JAH, or smoke with others and reason. InI smoked with officer of law before, doctors and lawyers, smoke in a di car, in a di basement, CPU, music studio, whereever. But one must be curteous of others, and always state "excuse me while i smoke my spliff" to show others your gratitude and haffi respect.

An apporox. age to start smoking varies for everyone. InI do not premote smoking if you are still growing (puberty) that is, but im sure it wont hurt I-man.

Couldn't of said it better myself Elijah I. There is no need to start smoking Ganja it is a merely an individuals decision to smoke, it is not set in stone that it is neccessary in ones livity.

I am very glad to see others sayig it is not nessessary to smoke ganja if  you are  Rasta.  Personaly, InI have been smoking the  herb since we was 15.  I am 20 now, and just recently, within the last week, have decided to take a  long break from smoking.   Many factors play into my decision.  some being the  harm InI feel  in  my chest when I inhale the smoke.  others include how often I  smoked, and  now need time to cleanse my mind and find  my  path again. like Towley, one day I got high, and just  kind of wandered off.  That being said, I agree that it all depends  on who  is  smoking and whether they need/want to or  not.  I think everyone should  try it  in the company of friends or phamily.  If it is something they enjoy, wonderful.  But there  are those who do not  like it's effects,  and  should not  smoke just do  be Rasta.  Herb can be  used in  more ITal ways  than a smoke

Smoking isn't a good way to go. Lungs are there to inhale the air made by natural processes, not smoke from something just lit up. I started to smoke tobacco when I was 12. I first smoked cannabis when I was 18. In the many years since, I've stopped smoking weed, but still smoking tobacco. I have to look upon starting smoking (anything) in the first place, as the biggest mistake I've ever made. I don't recommend smoking. If you want to have some herb, I suggest mixing it with some some lemon-mellissa, if can find it, and make them into a beautiful herbal tea. That way you'll get the benefits of the plant, without damaging what the creator has given you.

i started to smoke ganja maybe about a year ago but i did it just because i wanted to get high i was really introduced to the rasta lifestyle until maybe about half a year ago and when i educated myself spiritually i realized that when i smoked there was this presence i felt and it was the most increadible feeling in the world ever since i felt that presence for the first time i fell in love and i understand y i smoke now and like i was catholic and christian and wiccan and i was just looking for something to just really open my eyes and this did so... i think u have to understand the whole concept on y Ganja is good in the rasta lifestyle before u smoke it

I would say start to smoke Ganja once you are physically and mentally i.e you are fully grown as a being and you are ready to begin using it.
