well Rasta is an individual quest, and InI think only YOU can truly find words to express your beliefs to your father. I shall merely express my own beliefs, in hope that they will inspire you.
There is one God Jah Jesus is the Son of Jah, who died for our sins. Jah then sent us King Selassie I to once again show us the way. As Jah is our creator, we are all brothers and sisters and must treat one another so. We are all African, race is merely small cultural differences blown out of proportion by Babylon (the corrupt world). We are all equal. We Rastafarians, in accordance with the above statement, do not consider ourselves above those of different faiths, rather we 'love all faiths as Christ loved all mankind, even those who crucified Him.' -This is a paraphrased quote from H.I.M. Jah will return one day to destroy Babylon and lead us to Zion. It is the duty of any and all who accept these philosophies to live such a life as would be pleasing in the eyes of Jah, with strict morals, dignity, humility, and most of all LOVE.
And some things from InI way of life. We do not smoke, drink or take substances. We do not smoke ganja, but those Rastas who do, do so ONLY to get closer to Jah. They smoke to meditate only. They do not "get stoned" as Babylonians do.
But these are InI beliefs. InI would suggest the I meditate on your own faith for a little while and form in your mind the words to express to your father what you believe.
Peace and Blessings
