                      I've been reading through this topic, not smiling at the wording. It seems to I that there is a certain amount of losing sight of the wood for the trees going on. We all being people, this is a weakness that eachI has, or will experience, so it isn't a suprise, yet it is the quantity of this kinda thing which needs to be changed for the better. At the end of the day, no one individual Ras alone holds all the questions and similtaneously the answers- only Jah. So, being  social creatures, we have to work together in order "to progress materially and spiritually".
 EachI has a unique position, each person's life has and can be lived only by that person. So there's always gonna be differences of Ipinion, as differing circumstances will account for differing veiwpoints.
At the same time, eachI is dependent on anotherI is some way or other. Alone, a person is nothing more than alone. Together, we are a society, a collective force, a family. 
 Ultimately, there will always be times when the best overall course of action will be to Agree to Disagree. With Raspect. Otherwise, we will not be moving foward, we will not be in the process of Progress, for we shall be too distracted to realise that we're just going round and round in circles.

I take no Issue with what ya been saying...time and time again theI places wording of strength and dignity, and puts truth foremost irrespective of wether it refers to that which is beautiful or that which is brutal. I've got no problem with that...I raspect that approach. Sometimes, when things get  heated in a thread, it seems as if some ( not you ) fail to reason calmly, as their egos overtake their dignity with misinterpretation motivated attacks. That's the basis of what I wished to put across in I (albeit long-winded) post.

Seen freeformras. I overstand what you mean and I have nothing against you or your post/posts from before. Just putting across what I sight. I am glad that you overstand what it is I am saying for I certainly do not mean it negatively - some just just take it that way, from their own misunderstandings/ misinterpretations.

I keep I cool with those that keep their cool with I. If someone nah agree to what it is I say, I have no problem with that. If it is done in a respectful way. There are many things that I nah agree with too. And I do it without no "personal"/"name callings" insults. I use the knowledge I have and, I remain on the topic at hand. At least until someone start fe throw stones. That is the foundation of true reasoning. I am not out for war but, if someone try fe throw stones at I, I will throw a mountain back. Peace.

I really hope the next postings will be about the thread at hand.

Greetings and thanks Prophet7.  What you explained here is something I know, and also why I personally can't ever see calling Iself "rasta".  My friends that are Ethiopians (in the sense of being from the small nation of 'Ethiopia', not the true, greater Ethiopia you have mentioned in other threads) have explained that Ras is a title given to certain people under certain conditions.  It is certainly not applied to everyone who wants it.  It is also a burden too - because it is a rasponsibility for the Ras to live up to.  Therefore it is not just to be thrown about and adopted by anyone, and at the same time is should not only be reduced to a title for people of certain blood.  Yes, royalty does include blood, but it also is a dramatic higher calling that is the burden of the entitled person to live up to being a true Ras in relationship to the people and the world at large.  Certainly this does not include using the title to slap people around and demand raspect because of it.  That is corruption and failure and I havent seen any trace of this in HIM.  As far as I can see (from my limited perspective), the vast majority of those in history that have been given the title Ras or equivalents in other places in the world have not acted in a noble way.  And this is no surprise, as you have already mentioned it is (mostly) a manmade title.

On the other hand, if a victim of babylon who's identity was erased (or at least attempted to be erased by enslavers) refers to themselves as Rasta, or uses Ras, I respect it.  Why?  Because we don't know if its true or not due to the unlawful actions of the oppressor that have created confusion amongst the Is in their purposeful attempts to subvert Istory.  For I, its better to err on the safe side in this shituation and accept and support the term Rasta and Ras.
