Bless Up Family

With the issue of 'White Supremacy' being the topic being discussed lately, a few Idren have been having private discussions regarding the issue of 'BLACK SUPREMACY' and whether or not it is indeed a 'REAL' issue.  InI don't have sufficient time to address all the questions the Ies have posed to InI regarding this so InI will start by making this small presentation here.  This is where InI take most of InI's views from in relating to the 'colour' issue within RasTaFari.

BLACK SUPREMACY= A racist world view that considers black or colored people to be better than white people. (E.g. Black Hebrew Israelites, Nation of Islam, Yahweh Ben Yahweh).

Here is a brief Istory of the thought of ‘Black Supremacy’ and the role it has and is playing in RasTaFari today.  This is InI’s humble Iverstanding of the many sacred texts studied to date and in no manner is presented as the only truth or part of the puzzle.  However, it addresses ALL the major reasons why InI Ilieve that becoming the ‘Oppressor’ is NOT the answer RasTaFari needs at this juncture in Istory.  UNITY, UNITY, UNITY, is the only answer in InI’s view.  That includes putting aside the ‘colour’ issue for the betterment of the WHOLE.
The preface of this Rule Book, (Holy Piby) is the Finger Post, into the Kingdom of Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is the Succeeding Kingdom of the Angle Saxon kingdom.

The Rastafarian movement began with the teachings of Marcus Garvey (1887-1940), a black Jamaican who led a "Back to Africa" movement. He taught that Africans are the true Israelites and have been exiled to Jamaica and other parts of the world as divine punishment.
Garvey encouraged pride in being black and worked to reverse the mindset of inferiority that centuries of enslavement had ingrained on the minds of blacks. Garvey is regarded as a second John the Baptist and famously prophesied in 1927, "Look to Africa, for there a king shall be crowned."
Leonard Howell emerged as an early leader of the movement. He taught six fundamental Rastafarian principles: (1) hatred for the White race; (2) the complete superiority of the Black race; (3) revenge on Whites for their wickedness; (4) the negation, persecution, and humiliation of the government and legal bodies of Jamaica; (5) preparation to go back to Africa; and (6) acknowledging Emperor Haile Selassie as the Supreme Being and only ruler of Black people. He told the Rastafarians that they should not seek to immigrate to Ethiopia until they had liberated the people of Jamaica, a command that came to be known as "liberation before repatriation." As well as its profound religious significance for Rastas, the event helped to legitimize the movement. April 21 is celebrated as a Rastafarian holiday.
One of the most important figures in the history of the Rastafari movement is the reggae artist Bob Marley (1945-81). The son of a white father and black mother, Marley lived in the Kingston slums of Jamaica.
The sacred text of Rastafarians is the Holy Piby, the "Black Man's Bible." It was compiled by Robert Athlyi Rogers of Anguilla from 1913 to 1917 and published in 1924. 4 The Holy Piby is a version of the Christian Bible that has been altered to remove all the deliberate distortions that are believed to have been made by white leaders during its translation into English.
Rastafarians believe in the Judeo-Christian God, whom they call Jah. In general, Rastafarian beliefs are based in Judaism and Christianity, with an emphasis on Old Testament laws and prophecies and the Book of Revelation. Allegorical meaning is often sought in the Holy Piby.
Jah was manifested on earth as Jesus, who Rastas believe was black, and Emperor Haile Selassie. Selassie is referred to as His Imperial Majesty or H.I.M. (pronounced "him") and believed to still be alive - his death was a hoax and he lives in protection awaiting the Day of Judgment. Selassie is worshipped as divine. (Scriptural proof texts include Revelation 5:2-5, 17:14, 19:6, 22:16, Ezekiel 30, Psalm 9, 18, 68, 76, 87:4, Isaiah 9.) Rastafarians also honor Old Testament prophets like Moses and Elijah.
Rastafarians do not believe in an afterlife, 5 but instead look to Africa (called "Zion") as a heaven on earth. True Rastas are believed to be immortal, both physically and spiritually, a concept called "everliving."
An important Rastafarian concept is "I and I," which is said instead of "you and I." It emphasizes the oneness between humanity and God as well as the equality of all humans.
Another central concept is Babylon, which refers to the white power structure of Europe and the Americas. Rastas seek to resist Babylon, which once cruelly enslaved blacks and still continue to hold them down through poverty, illiteracy, inequality, and trickery. The greed and conceit of Babylon is contrasted with the humble simplicity and naturalness of the Rastas
One of the most visible practices of Rastafarians is the wearing of one's hair in dreadlocks. Dreadlocks have several purposes and layers of meaning for Rastafarians, including:
•   the biblical command not to cut one's hair (Leviticus 21:5)
•   the appearance of the lion's mane, representing strength, Africa, Ethiopia, and the Lion of Judah
•   naturalness and simplicity, which are associated with Africa
•   the Rasta's roots in Africa
The other main Rasta symbol besides dreadlocks, are the colors of red, gold and green. Red stands for the triumphant church of the Rastas as well as the blood of the martyrs in the black struggle for liberation. Gold represents the wealth of their African homeland and green symbolizes Ethiopia's beauty and lush vegetation. Black is often also included, representing the color of the Africans. Another important symbol is the Lion of Judah, which represents Haile Selassie as the King of Kings, Africa, and strength.
The most observant Rastas follow a dietary law called Ital. Ital food is food which is completely natural (not canned and free of chemicals and preservatives) and eaten as raw as possible. Old Testament prohibitions against pork and shellfish are part of Ital; most Rastafarians are vegatarians or vegans. Coffee and milk are also rejected as unnatural.
Rastafarians reject the use of alcohol, since it is a fermented chemical that does not belong in the temple of the body and it makes a person stupid, thereby playing into the hands of white leaders. This is contrasted with the holy herb of marijuana, which is natural and believed by Rastas to open their mind and assist in reasoning.
The Holy Piby was written by Robert Athlyi Rogers, who founded an Afrocentric religion in the US and West Indies in the 1920s. Rogers' religious movement, the Afro Athlican Constructive Church, saw Ethiopians (in the Biblical sense of Black Africans) as the chosen people of God, and proclaimed Marcus Garvey, the prominent Black Nationalist, an apostle. The church preached self-reliance and self-determination for Africans.
The Holy Piby, a book founded by the Holy Spirit to deliver the gospel commanded by the Almighty God for the full salvation of Ethiopia's posterities.
In time the Piby shall contain all worthy prophecies and inspirations endowed by God upon the sons and daughters of Ethiopia, but no article shall be permitted to enter the Piby save that which is in accordance with the gospel of the twentieth century, preached by his Holiness, Shepherd Athlyi, apostle Marcus Garvey and colleague; the three apostles anointed and sent forth by the Almighty God to lay the foundation of industry, liberty and justice unto the generations of Ethiopia that they prove themselves a power among the nations and in the glory of their God.

THE FIRST BOOK OF ATHLYI
CALLED ATHLYI
CHAPTER I
THE CREATION
From the beginning there was God and he spake and all things were made that are made.
The sixth day God made man for his glory, and all things were given unto him for his possession and for his use the woman hath God made of man and for the glory of the man that she serve him and raise up seed unto him.
And God rested the seventh day and hallowed it that men should do also.
Now when the man saw the woman that was made of him and for his glory, he loved her and married with her, consequently she bore children unto Him and they became the father and mother of all men.
And God called the man Adam and the woman Eve. They were of a mixed complexion.
And it came to pass that God commanded the man to give names to all things that are made.
CHAPTER 1
HEAVEN GRIEVED
For as much as the children of Ethiopia, God's favorite people of old, have turned away from his divine Majesty, neglecting life economic, believing they could on spiritual wings fly to the kingdom of God, consequently became a dependent for the welfare of others.
Therefore the whole heaven was grieved and there was a great lamentation in the Kingdom of God. Ethiopian mothers whose bodies have been dead for a thousand years, weeping for their suffering generations and shall not be comforted.
And behold two angels of the Lord resembling two saints of Ethiopia appeared before Athlyi and he inquired of them what is the cry?
And they answered him saying, Ethiopian mothers who have been dead a thousand years pleading before Elijah for the redemption of suffering Ethiopia and her posterities who by the feet of the nations are trodden.
Ethiopia Anointed
And when the two messengers of the Lord were midways they cried out unto the earth saying, blessed be thou Ethiopia for this day thou art anointed, thou are blest with a blessing, be ye forever united and stand up, let the world know your God.
"Mothers of Ethiopia, the convention has triumphed, your sorrows have brought joy to Ethiopia, your tears have anointed her soil with a blessing, your cries have awakened her children throughout the earth, yea in the corners of the unknown world are they aroused, and is prophesying, saying prepare ye the way for a redeemer."
Shepherd Anointed
For unto Ethiopia this day a Shepherd is anointed, yea, as a shepherd gathers his sheep so shall he gather unto God, the generation of Ethiopia even from the end of the earth and lead them high, a nation among nations.
Then shall the inhabitants of the earth know that the Lord our God has not forsaken Ethiopia, and that the mighty is weak against his command, and unto no nation has he given power forever.
Verily I say unto you, woe be unto the persecutors of the shepherd for he is anointed by p. 30 the Lord our God, therefore one drop of his blood or the least of his apostles whom he has anointed to administer the law to the generations of Ethiopia, or the blood of a prophet within the law, shall break to pieces the oppressors of Ethiopia.
The Mighty Angel
When the mighty angel had finished speaking to the heavenly host he then turned to the earth and said: "Children of Ethiopia, stand," and there flashed upon the earth a great multitude of Negroes knowing not from whence they came; then shouted instantly the whole heavenly host, "Behold, behold Ethiopia has triumphed."
And it came to pass that the mighty angel spoke to the multitude of Negroes, saying, "Woe be unto those who say to the shepherd, thou fool, or to the least of an apostle anointed to administer the law, for it is not the desire of the shepherd but the will of the Lord who is God."
CHAPTER 3
GOD'S HOLY LAW TO THE CHILDREN OF ETHIOPIA
Great and manifold are the blessings bestowed upon us the oppressed children of Ethiopia, by His Divine Majesty, Lord God Almighty, King of all mercies, when by his most holy command His divine highness, Christ, Prince of the Heavenly Kingdom, descended and anointed us that we may be prepared to receive these noble men, servants of God and redeemers of Ethiopia's posterities. His honor, Marcus Garvey and colleague, his holiness the shepherd Athlyi, supreme minister of God's Holy Law to the children of Ethiopia, may we show gratitude to our God by being submissive to his teachings through these his humble servants, and submitting ourselves in obedience to his Holy Law that we a suffering people may reap the fruit thereof.
When as it was the intention of others to keep us forever in darkness, by our faithfulness to the Law we shall in time prove to the nations that God has not forsaken Ethiopia.

p. 36
The Holy Commandments
I
Love ye one another, O children of Ethiopia, for by no other way can ye love the Lord your God.
II
Be thou industrious, thrifty and fruitful, O offsprings of Ethiopia, for by no other way can ye show gratitude to the Lord your God, for the many blessings he has bestowed upon earth free to all mankind.
III
Be ye concretized and ever united, for by the power of unity ye shall demand respect of the nations.
IV
Work ye willingly with all thy heart with all thy soul and with all thy strength to relieve suffering and oppressed humanity, for by no other way can ye render integral service to the Lord your God.
V
Be thou clean and pleasant, O generation of Ethiopia, for thou art anointed, moreover the angels of the Lord dwelleth with thee.
p. 37
VI
Be thou punctual, honest and truthful that ye gain flavor in the sight of the Lord your God, and that your pathway be prosperous.
VII
Let no people take away that which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for the Lord shall inquire of it and if ye shall say some one hath taken it, ye shall in no wise escape punishment, for he that dieth in retreat of his enemy the Lord shall not hold him guiltless, but a people who dieth in pursuit of their enemy for the protection of that which the Lord God giveth them, shall receive a reward in the kingdom of their Father.
VIII
Thou shalt first bind up the wound of thy brother and correct the mistakes in thine own household before ye can see the sore on the body of your friend, or the error in the household of thy neighbour.
IX
O generation of Ethiopia, shed not the blood of thine own for the welfare of others for such is the pathway to destruction and contempt.
X
Be ye not contented in the vineyard or household of others, for ye know not the day or the hour when denial shall appear, prepare ye p. 38 rather for yourselves a foundation, for by no other way can man manifest love for the offsprings of the womb.
XI
Athlyi, Athlyi, thou shepherd of the holy law and of the children of Ethiopia, establish ye upon the Law a Holy temple for the Lord according to thy name and there shall all the children of Ethiopia worship the Lord their God, and there shall the apostles of the shepherd administer the law and receive pledges thereto and concretize within the Law. Verily he that is concretized within the Law shall be a follower and a defender thereof, more-over the generations born of him that is concretize within the law are also of the law.
XII
O generation of Ethiopia, thou shalt have no other God but the Creator of Heaven and Earth and the things thereof. Sing ye praises and shout Hosanna to the Lord your God, while for a foundation ye sacrifice on earth for His Divine Majesty the Lord our Lord in six days created. the heaven and earth and rested the seventh; ye also shall hallow the seventh day, for it is blessed by the Lord, therefore on this day thou shall do no manner of work or any within thy gates.
p. 39
The Shepherd's Prayer By Athlyi
O God of Ethiopia, thy divine majesty; thy spirit come in our hearts to dwell in the path of righteousness, lead us, help us to forgive that we may be forgiven, teach us love and loyalty on earth as in Heaven, endow us with wisdom and understanding to do thy will, thy blessing to us that the hungry be fed, the naked clothed, the sick nourished, the aged protected and the infants cared for. Deliver us from the hands of our enemies that we prove fruitful, then in the last day when life is o'er, our bodies in the clay, or in the depths of the sea, or in the belly of a beast, O give our souls a place in thy kingdom forever and forever. Amen.
________________________________________
p. 44
Let all the generations of Ethiopia hear the voice of Athlyi, for in his hands the law is given unto them.
Let not be devil persuade you that you turn your back against the Lord God of Ethiopia.
Woe be unto you should the heavenly father because of your ingratitudes turn against thee, revengely the hands of thy enemies and shall come upon thee with horror.
Let the Athlyians walk in the path of righteousness and all impediments shall be their foot stool and the spirit of the Lord shall dwell with them for ever and ever.
Blessed are the industrious hearts for they are those who use the blessing and the power of God for the good of mankind. Great shall be their reward in the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who seek the Lord and by actual work prove to the nations that they have found him; for the power of God shall be as two kings feeling in darkness for an electric switch and he that found it immediately there was light throughout his palace and all the people rejoiced because of its splendor, but in the palace of him that found it not, there was no light, therefore his people wandered and became the servants of others.
p. 45
Blessed are a people who seek their own, beautify and maintain it, for in their barns there shall be plenty; great shall they be among men. The Lord shall glory in them and their daughters shall be the wives of mighty men.
Woe be unto a people, a race who seek not their own foundation; their wives shall be servants for the wives of other men, and their daughters shall be wives of poor men and of vagabonds, and there shall be tears because of privation, then in the end hell everlasting for there shall be no reward in the kingdom of heaven for slothful nor the unconcerned.
Woe be unto a race of people who forsake their own and adhere to the doctrine of another. They shall be slaves to the people thereof
Verily I say unto you, O children of Ethiopia, boast not of the progress of other races, believing that thou are a part of the project for at any time thou shall be cast over the bridge of death both body and soul.
Forget not the assembling of thy selves and unitedly working for the up building of Ethiopia and her generations.
Then shall the nations of the earth respect thee and thy commodities shall be for their gold and their commodities for thy gold, but there shall p. 46 be none to fool thee neither shall ye be their slaves.
For thy emblem shall rank among their emblems; thy ships among their ships, and thy men-of-war among their men-of-war; great shall be thy name among the nations.
The Lord God, Father of Ethiopia, shall glory in thee, with thee shall all the angels rejoice, great is thy reward in the kingdom of heaven.
Thy daughters shall work with clean hands and in soft clothing, thy sons shall enjoy the fruits of their colleges.
And he began to tell his followers about the wonderful works of God; how he hath sent apostles of the twentieth century, to save Ethiopia p. 52 and her generations from the oppressive feet of the nations that they prove themselves fruitful for the good of their children and the glory of their God.
"Know ye that I am not the only one sent by the Lord our God to rescue the children of Ethiopia, for before me there were two others sent forth to prepare the minds of the people for the great things that shall come to pass.
"I saw an angel resembling a mighty Negro, and upon his head were horns of a great structure and on his breast was a map of life.
"I heard a great voice uttered from the end of the world saying, behold the map of the new Negroes, by this shall ye know the apostle of the twentieth century whom the Almighty God hath commanded to save Ethiopia and her posterities.
"At the sound of the mighty voice the structure descended from the head of the angel and stood upon the ground and the map surrounded it, then was the writing plain to be understood."
And the Shepherd showed the people a copy of the map, and said "Behold the map as I have seen it, straight-way at midnight I reproduce the mystery."
Then the Athlyians shouted for joy and the Shepherd spake with a loud voice saying "Thou sun that shines upon the waters of the utmost world, that gives light to the earth, stand thou still p. 53 over mountains of Africa and give light to her righteous armies."
Where are those? There is none to compare with the Athlyians in united spirits and a determination; a people, lovers of freedom and of justice, fearless of death.

These ‘WORDS’ which we all agree has ‘WORD POWER’ are directly from the ‘Black Man’s Ible’, The Holy Piby.  It is InI’s Ilief that our strength as a ‘people’ is not recognized in it’s fullness until the ‘cloak’ of ‘race’ by hung up and true “iritual unity’ be the new agenda for RasTafari.  Throughout the Holy Piby we see demonstrations of ‘Black supremacy’ in it’s truest form.  However, if the text is studied and applied to today’s reality we recognize that RasTaFari is ‘BIGGER’ and more noble that ‘RACE’ and ‘COLOUR of SKIN’…

Bless Up Ras Nicro

SEEN IYAH...  In the Raspects of InI's personal Opinions based on Istory InI am also guilty of  practicing 'Black Supremacy' as sited in the various discussions now on the forum boards.  The difference with InI's opinions and 'White Supremacy' is that InI acknowledge and am proud to do such, however, InI attempt at all cost to do the right thing for all of RasTaFari in InI's actions.

Bless Up Idren Human

One Love Bredren.. InI agree with many of the opinions shared by the Idren and Sistren collectively.  If there is a difference in Opinion, most times it is due to the presentation of said opinions and not the 'opinions' themselves.

There is no shame to RasTaFari to acknowledge that RasTaFari was brought forth as a means of 'giving back' to the 'negro' the 'empowerment' which was stripped from us as a people collectively.  It WAS NOT a means of subjecting the 'white' race to the same manner of inhumanity that the system of 'white supremacy' delivered to the Black man/wombman.  In this fact, 'BLACK SUPREMACY & WHITE SUPREMACY' differ in the Istruction of Iliefs.

The Black man had no choice but to pick up the banner of 'Black Supremacy' in order for the Black race to survive genocide.  The banner of 'White Supremacy' had no such beginning and hence the BIGGEST differences in the both institutions.

@Ras Nevoe

Idren, we are not in disagreement in the fact that the system of 'White Supremacy' must be dismantled.  There is no way that the 'white' man can claim the same injustices that the Black man can.  Istory has no documentation of a whole group of 'whites' being torn away and chased from their homes, being forced to serve another race of peoples for hundreds of years.  The system of Itinued enslavement as introduced by 'White Supremists' with Willie Lynch has left scars that still require healing.  In this fact, WHO LIVES IT KNOWS IT.

May JahJah Itinue to Bless and Direct you all in your quest for knowledge, equality, justice and empowerment.

Bless Up

@Ras Nicro

InI am also interested in this thought of ‘dropping’ the ‘Black Supremacy’ issue.  As InI sight it, THAT SIMPLY IS NOT POSSIBLE until that day when ‘the colour of a man’s skin is of no more significance…”  We are certainly a long way from that REALITY and hence a long way from disposing ‘BLACK SUPREMACY’.
Take for example the following facts as is taking place in this very world we are attempting to ‘UNITE’.

@Tarantula...

How are these ‘BLACKS’ suppose to survive without a level of ‘BLACK SUPREMACY?  Is the I RasTaFari in Lifestyle and Livity?  InI am afraid that InI am uncertain as to whether or not the I actually KNOWS what he is in fact suggesting here? The following is Reality for millions of Blacks worldwide, has been for hundreds of years.

Brazil's African population almost equal to that of Nigeria

Photo © MRG International
Spanish American societies have...sought to support emblaquecimiento or ‘whitening’ of their populations. This is an elevation of all things white and European...

Report by Minority Rights Group International
A macro study by Minority Rights Group International (MRG), found that people of African descent living in Latin America are socially, economically and institutionally marginalised as a consequence of slavery and colonisation and rarely benefit from general development programmes. Racial discrimination is cited as the major factor contributing to poverty among the black population, who are absent from the political arena and have no voice with which to participate in the creation or implementation of policies that affect their lives.

150 million people of African descent live in Latin America and account for about one third of the total population. They reside mainly in rural areas, which are characterised by poor infrastructure, few schools and health facilities, low income and high unemployment. Afro descendants – as they are self-defined, account for 40 per cent of the poorest people in the region.

Studies carried out by the Inter American Development Bank in 2001 found that in Brazil, the allocation of school places was determined by skin colour, which resulted in a large number of Afro descendants being denied access to education. Brazil has the largest number of Afro descendants in the whole of Latin America, which is estimated at 150 million – 20 million less than Nigeria, the most populous country on the African continent. (2006 Census).

In Colombia, 98 per cent of the black population are without basic public utilities, compared with just 6 per cent of whites. These examples are representative of the experiences of Afro descendants throughout Latin America. Development initiatives funded by NGOs have little impact because the NGOs rarely work directly with Afro descendant organisations but through the same state channels who are instituting economic oppression and discrimination in the first place.

MRG notes that the attitude towards Afro descendants has over centuries been “based on the concept of white supremacy.” This began in 1492 with the expulsion of the black Moors from the Iberian peninsular which aimed to eradicate Africans and blacks from the colonies:

“Spanish American societies have consciously and unconsciously continued this process and sought to support 'emblaquecimiento' or ‘whitening’ of their populations. This is an elevation of all things white and European, whilst denigrating and excluding other non-white cultures and races,” the report states.

Dr Andoni Castillo, a cultural anthropologist from Honduras and Afro descendant, is seeking to establish a reparations committee in Latin America and has been networking with organisations in the USA and here in the UK. He feels that it is important to open a debate about the plight of African descendants in Latin America.

When being black is too hard to bear

There is this supremacy ideology in his mind, where he is thinking ‘I used to be black but I’m not black anymore. I’m not African anymore.

Dr Andoni Castillo, Cultural Anthropologist
“In Argentina there are over one million African descendants, yet they deny the African population in the country. In Mexico there are over three million people of African descent, yet the government of Mexico will say that there are no Africans in Mexico,” Dr Castillo said.

One of his chief concerns is the lack of a proper education programme which includes African history. Many Afro descendants are isolated, impoverished, spawned by the rest of society and abandoned by their governments. The denigration of black people is so longstanding and far-reaching, that many of those who do manage to get an education cannot wait to cast their blackness aside as they try to win acceptance.

“He has been learning about someone else and when he finishes his degree he doesn’t think like an African anymore. There is this supremacy ideology in his mind, where he is thinking ‘I used to be black but I’m not black anymore. I’m not African anymore,’” Dr Castillo explained, adding that the educated Afro descendant man does not look for a marriage partner among black women but seeks acceptance by marrying white and Latino women.

As Frantz Fanon observed in his acclaimed work: Black Skin, White Masks "The colonised is elevated above his jungle status in proportion to his adoption of the mother country's cultural standards. He becomes whiter as he renounces his blackness, his jungle."

With all Raspect for the masses of non-black RasTaFari, RasTaFari has always been a movement of ‘BLACK SUPREMACY’ and will Itinue to be such.  Everything that is now Isidered RasTaFari was founded on the principle of ‘BLACK SUPREMACY’.  RasTaFari IS BLACK SUPREMACY.

Bless Sis,
it is a precarious position to be in at this time.....yas, people of colour continue to get the ruff end of the stick, of this there is no doubt in I mind, and reality I will devote I life to change.
it is by our livity that we show "superiority", our devotion and willingness to endure when Jah calls us to endure, and our actions when Jah calls us to act.....
One cannot argue with reality, reality speaks for itself, whether the truth be evident or not.
as to this assersion, I say this not do dilute the power of the truth the I speaks, but to add to it...

Quote
Istory has no documentation of a whole group of 'whites' being torn away and chased from their homes, being forced to serve another race of peoples for hundreds of years.
[quote/]

I do not find this truth in entirety
has the I not heard of the 9 million women who where taken from their homes tortured and murdered throughout the middle ages in Europe, Britian and even in America?
These ones, of which I remember being one of, where victims of the Roman Catholic Church and the political leaders of the times, it was their henious plan to steal their land and wealth of these innocent woman and undermine the rights of females globally.
"White" women  have been enslaved by this system also....
We feel the pain and we know it.......regardless of colour......
please I do not mean to undermine the reality of injustice perpetrated toward people of colour by I "so-called race", but to join with thee in solidarity and empathy, compassion and unity.
One Love
Nyah

Bless Up Sistren Nya

Seen, Sistren..  A precarious position.  And as InI has a right to speak on behalf of 'black' women, so the I has a right to speak on behalf of downtrodden 'white' women.  Our power as RasTaFari Wombmen is in our ability to look deep within and underneath the actual skin colour and embrace each other through the Divine Ispiration through Direction of Jah RasTaFari, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of Judah.  Forward RasTasFari.

Yes Sistren..  This I has heard of the 9 million women in question.  But we were discussing a whole 'race' of people, not one particular 'sex/gender' of people.  InI do find there to be a difference in that.  Wombmen as a whole have particular issues to deal with.  'Black Women' have particular issues to deal with.  Women with disabilities have particular issues to deal with.  Gay women have particular issues to deal with.  Single mother women have particular issues to deal with.  Abused women have particular issues to deal with.  Here InI am discussing the issues relating to 'Black Supremacy' and the many particular reasons for such a need of 'Black Supremacy'.

It is InI's opinion that RasTaFari has the Intelligence, the Wisdom, the Courage, the Motivation, the Vision and the Truth to change the course we are headed as Humanity.  That 'TOGETHER' we can Overcome and make our world more Blessed for our children and their children.  That does not mean that we should not acknowledge our 'differences' in realities.  For he who lives it knows it Sistren.  Truth is that Rastas of colour cannot 'take off' their Rasta cloak when the situation may call for such.  We cannot be 'Black' when we choose and 'take off' the colour cloak when we want to blend into the rest of civilized society.  Just as one who does not carry 'locks' can NEVER feel the FULL effects of walking through this system with this crown on their head.  Who lives it Knows it.

With all said and done, the I is a wonderful example of how RasTaFari IS ABOVE ALL and IS ALL.  InI am proud to have the I as a RasTaFari Sistren and that Rightiousness was all that was needed to penetrate the layer of both of our propective 'skin colour' and reach right into the heart. Yet, the 'Truth' of the 'Black' experience remains the Truth regardless of whether we agree or not.  InI cannot change the colour Blue to Red just because InI desired it to be so.

Greetings in the name of The Most High Jah RasTafari

Sistah Vee, when InI was searching for a place to get together with intelligient RasTafari Wombmen it was a task.  InI visited many Rasta forums.  Then a Sistren of mine at work told InI that the Sistren was a regular her at Rasta Nick's and InI came and read through the forum and InI was so Inspiried by the I that InI joined as a member and then joined the I's forum inthehousewithsistahvee.

Many Rastafari Bredren have difficulty Reasoning with Rasta Wombmen as equals.  We may not wish to admit to it, but even in RasTafari as a Movement there are levels of 'Supremacy' both 'Black & White'.  We find ourselves as Rastafari Wombmen collectively seeking out 'Strong, Motivated, Intelligient' Wombmen we can learn from and emulate.  How many of us RastaWombmen can admit to wishing we had an Intelligient RastaWombman to talk through a particular situation with and obtain some advice?  Sistah Vee, as a teacher and Mentor InI know many RastaWombmen who are Grateful that an Elder RastaWombman like yourself make the time to Guide so many of us Wombmen on our quest for Iritual Knowledge and Fulfillment in Jah RasTafari.

Regarding the manner in which you as a RastaWombman has used your Intelligence to Unite Groups of RastaWombmen to Centralize under the banner of Jah's Love and work together to make changes in the lives of the downtrodden wombmen and children of the world is commendable and a great example of how with knowledge comes power.  Knowing the facts does not mean we have to 'punish' each other for the crimes committed by ancestors of the past.  However we must acknowledge that such sins has and is still taking place and do our part to Itrol our little corner of our worlds.  InI known for fact that the I is a beautiful Sistren to RastaWombmen of all colors and that the I treats all her Rasta family with a Oneness and Love.

As always InI enjoyed this Reasoning brought forth from an angle not looked at often.  And in the I's Itinued Ilief that RasTafari will Prevail.  InI have never met a more Virtuous RastaWoman Elder that the I, Sistah Vee.  Jah Love from all the RastaWombmen the I takes time to befriend in the Irit of SisterHood.

Peace & Hotep!

InI not quite sure what the issue of this thread is........ But InI notice from I own environment, and from reasonings with rastas worldwide, a tendency of the Rastawombman to pick up a feminist attitude towards the Rasta-man.
what these women don't realize is that the root of this problem is the white supremacist, racist man and racist woman. I know for a fact that this type of behaviour does more to help white supremacy, than it does to eliminate it.

It is easy to fight down the rasta man, but hard to confront the racist man/woman. And I speak from first hand experience.

Bless Up Idren,
seen sistah vee!
give thanx for the heartical reasoning.
The I has clarified the position with the usual grace and intelligence.
And you are right , of course, I can never walk down the street in the I's skin and feel the level of discrimination the I has to deal with, although I do experience my own kind of alienation from the "dominant culture".
I have a choice to reject this culture, but the way i see it,people of colour have been subjected to the rejection, the refusal to give to another on an equal level due to colour is a henious sin...and I feel downhearted that this reality still exists.
One thing I suspect, is jealousy.......I have always admired the beautiful skin tones of brown skinned people, but I imagine, some could see the beauty of Afro people and feel jealous.
See the way they bake demselves in the sun to brown their skin and risk skin cancer.....
and the way they curl their hair.
Of course that is all superficial stuff, alot of the reasons the discrimination still exists is economic. Unfortunately many are cashing in on racial inequality and it is disgusting....
they obviously do not realize that impoverishing any impoverishes all.
I can say with conviction that people of colour have demonstrated supremecy thru music for me.
Culturally, spiritual, I have been given more from I brown skinned Idren, it is true - deep culture, ancient culture.
As for the Idea that Rasta wombmen are feminist....that could only be reactionary in I book.
Our Spiritual Mentor is a MAN!
But a man who demonstrated his raspect and equality with woman when His empress was crowned on the same day as H.I.M. self.
Blessings, raspect and Love
