Greetings Bredren,
To begin an exploration one must prepare.  what is it that will be found ?, depends on what one puts into the search.  There is no need to dig further than others, just find what is inside the I.

A good first step is to find a calm place.  The outside world is a HUGE interruption, and the mind is Jumpy. 
Breathing is the root of calmness, if one can focus on the breathing and loose the mind of thoughts, this is a GOOD start.  Then we may begin to see what crosses the screen of the Mind and begin our exploration.
