Blessings
It is my overstanding that many do not partake of wine as it is prohibited within the Nazarite vow. Apart from that, alcohol is an intoxicant and a depressant. So there are many reasons why some feel it is not good to drink wine. However, red wine has many benefits when taken in moderation. Also, vodka is used in tinctures.
Because Jesus drank wine is not a justification, IMHO. There are bible scriptures (see below) that are for and against drinking wine. Overall, ones should research and determine for themselves if it is suitable for their livity.
Proverbs 20:1 - Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
1 Timothy 5:23 - Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
Be blessed

“If health fails, teaching, knowledge, life itself, all comes to naught. It is indispensable, so have nothing to do with alcohol and avoid all things against which conscience speaks" -His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor Haile Selassie I, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of thr Tribe of Judah
For InI, His word is law.
But there ARE Rastas who think like you do brother. I have seen some who do drink alcohol. In the end, it is up to each individual Rastafarian to find the truth in all things for himself. InI have described InI personal choice and the reason InI choose so is because InI believe in His Majesty's words but the I chooses to take a different interpretation, InI judge not, the I is still a beloved brother.
We are all going to walk different roads, but we shall walk as one family, as we all walk to Mount Zion.
Peace and Blessings[/b]

Well i don't drink alcohol because alcohol just makes you drunk and when you drunk you get violent and in my experience where there's alcohol there's going to be violence verbally or physically.
Also when you drink alcohol you cant meditate your up and movin you dont have time to think.

Bless Up! I'm new to Rasta but I think that if you're going to drink, do so only in moderation! It is definitely wrong to get drunk or loose your senses.
As someone has also said: We are each on our own journey and walk to be spiritual. Everyone is at a different place in their spiritual growth.
