Important 12 Tribes question??

hi there blessed rasta

i have 2 main questions about 12 tribes of Israel.

*can i just say i do not want long winding text with hundreds of copy and paste from other web sites.

firstly a 12 tribes of Israel is very important in the jewish religion.
How do we as RAS define which tribe we are in?? i thought that it is to do with what month you are born in (roughly!!) but jews do not see it this way,, they know what tribe they are in from the families that pass down that information? so how do you no what tribe you are in??

2. If choosing the month is the correct rasta way, Jesus is from the tribe of judah (this is correct because only a messiah can come from the line of judah, and also jesus was related to king David)

If jesus is from the tribe of judah This would suggets that he was born in JULY?

Here bro I got a little off wikipedia, its not actually about the different tribes its about the sect, does tell a bit about it though

The Twelve Tribes of Israel is a Rastafari group founded in Kingston, Jamaica, and now functioning worldwide. Its founder, Vernon Carrington, was known as Prophet Gad, and taught ones to read the Bible 'A Chapter A Day'.

Twelve Tribes of Israel Rastafari organization accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, and Selassie I as the divinely chosen by the creator to represent him on earth. Due to the stigma associated with slavery and the false use of the name Jesus by enslavers/colonialist not practicing what they preached, some prefer to use the ancient names of Christ - Yeshua or Yehoshua or JAH SHUA ( from Hebrew ) and/or Yesus Kristos ( Amharic ).

Haile Selassie I is seen as a divinely anointed king in the lineage of King David and Solomon. While he is considered a type/representation of Christ in Kingly Character, he is not Jesus Christ himself, but a representative of the everlasting Davidic covenant, which is to be fulfilled by Jesus Christ when he returns as Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah.

The twelve tribes symbology is based on Jacob/Israel's 12 sons, and correspond to the months of the ancient Israelite calendar, beginning with April and Reuben. Some people further relate this to metaphysical signs. Thus Bob Marley came from the Tribe of Joseph, the eleventh of the biblical Jacob's twelve children (because he was born in February). The name levi in Ijahman Levi represent the third child whom was born to jacob. Another well known reggae group of this sect is Israel Vibration.

Bob Marley, a natty dread, by quoting a biblical text about Joseph on the album cover of Rastaman Vibration, was acknowledging his own support for this sect. Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor, and many other roots reggae artists were associated with the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

Due to their inclusiveness of all races and acceptance of the Holy Bible, though not the oldest, Twelve Tribes of Israel is considered the largest of all Rastafari houses.

Ini would add that this view of HIM Haile Selassie is a recent one as Prophet Gad publicly denounced the Ivinity of the Emperor on Irie FM in 1997.  There was no question that Bob and others hailed I-Majesty as the Head Irator in flesh.  This declaration has justified ones in straddling the fence between the mental slavery of Christian church and the Iration based livity of Rastafari.  Ini personally don't deal with half god or demigod, King Selasie I is the fullness thereof.

Although I appreciate the Inclusiveness of the 12 tribes House and their activeness when it comes to repatriation and organization, I have heard that some things have lost some their focus with the Prophet Gad passing a couple of years ago, which is overstandable really......
A lot of Spirit is within some members of every nationality....
Really shouldn't Yeshua be a Pisces which is febuary as he was the harbringer of the Piscean age?
I know that that is not of the twelve tribes philosophy, and I though that he was born either in feb which is Joseph or the 6 Jan and that would make him of the Naphtali tribe like I...which relate to LOVE so that would fit, as that is his main teachment, as yah can see I have little clarity about this...
Oh I have a Sistah here who has been a part of the twelve tribes in NZ and they looked into it in depth based on scriptural calulation, she gonna show I the info...I will be back with updates....

my teacher in tobago, say to me, you no what tribe you are in because of the moon calendar, and these run along side months, so for example, joseph February (bob marley month) Judah (july) Levi (June)

i can see why the tribes run along side months,

12tribes=12months of the year,

but jewish people do not run along side the months, it runs down through the family?

This Is WHERE my confusion lies



JESUS HAD to be from the tribe of Judah, as he is a direct desendant from King David.
If jesus was not from the tribe of judah, then according to scriptures he cannot be the messiah, and therefore Selassie I cannot be important at all!

becuase he desendend from no one?

It is said that the messiah can only come from the line of judah.

Now i know jesus was Messiah, and i no SELASSIE is the rightful king?

So this all lerads back to the original question of,

how do we determine tribes?

Selassie was born in july hence judah?! if he was'nt, then what view would we(Rasta) have of him?

Bless Up. Trouble is the name "Twelve Tribes of Israel" get jacked. Who iblically is the Twelve Tribes of Israel? The Twelve Tribes is 144,000 remanants of the the Tribes of Israel after the tribulation(holocaust) that Inite with and become one with Christ Jesus/RasTafarI and have his name written on dem foreheads.  Few I.  I and I nah serve Zere Jacob so believe that, teh throne was sealed when HIM make consitutional monarchy. really does it matter what tribe the I belongs to in the first place?? when the messiah comes all clean hearted people will face judgement the same no matter what tribe the I is from. We are scattered as many but will unite as one in rasta love.
