Would Selassie Praise himself?
Iman reading his text, and he always says , give thanks to god, who is allowing me to write this, and very very similar texts all the way through his speeches.
~If any Idren think that he IS God, why doesn't he praise himself. Not God?

well by saying give praises to god it is an example to show every one that nothing is possible with out Jah ,
RasTafarI is the human form of Jah so he would have know need to praise him self,
he would give thanks to his people giving there life to HIM because he knows it isn't easy..seen?
one who tries to shine over some one only dims there own light..

This is a universal doctrinal and theological issue. The fact is the "God" of the bible never once praised Himself, nor did the Jesus character but He defered to a Iyah source, ie the Garden of Gethsemane. HIM Haile Selassie I prayed to the Almighty within[b/] of which He was the outward 'man'ifestation. He who exalts HIMself shall be abased, He who humbles HIMself shall be exalted.

This issue is just one of the issues that bring I&I meditation to not sight Haile Selassie as JAH in human form. So Iman agree with RootsRidge - if this is also your standpoint.
I believe that if JAH ever would come into a human being (in that way) - He would announce it loud so everyone knew it.
Also - I&I nah see any prophesy in the holy scriptures, where the coming of JAH in person is prophesied. Only a Mosiach - Messiah - which was also not meant to be godly, only human, as King David.

Greetings Idren! I have thought alot about why HIM didnt see himself as a god, or atleast didnt tell anyone he did. When you think about it its pretty logical.. If he told the people of Ethiopia and the rest of the world that he were god.. How would people respond to him? They would probably think he's a lunatic telling people he's god. And Haile Selassie I was no lunatic, he was a smart and educated man.. So he understood what would happen if he told the world that he's god, therefor he did not.
Thats what i think about that matter, i dont know if anyone agrees with me hehe..

well that is a good point bro but when Yashua told his people that he came to safe them I'm sure there were people who thought he was a lunatic but he know he had to do it.. my point is that if he was suppose to let the people know that he was god he would have let us know. so maybe he wasn't sent here to tel us that he was god, maybe it is up to us to know that HIM is god..

i have to say some of my favourite ras are on this topic.
i see where that view of saying he was jah would cause people to think he madness!!
but i think he would of left things in his teachings, like what we ras would read and maybe some scholars.
ALso less of talk Selassie I had to proove he was god. JAH is the Almightly and this is not taken lightly,
I think selassie Is not god in flesh, but the earths king!
