Greetings Idren! Im really confused and i think losing faith in some things, please help me understand them! The Bible, says we shouldnt drink wine and so on, but sometimes it says we should... It says we shouldnt eat meat to... And most rastas read the bible right, but at the same time not all rastas follow these rules? How can you read the bible and believe in it without following the rules that god told us? Please lighten my mind!

Bless up

Bless Up Soldier of Jah

To Overstand anything one has to apply oneself to Study to Prove for inFallible Faith to take Root.  In the case of the Ible it is the same.  First of all, it is Important to point out that the Ible is but one of MANY HOLY TEXTS and documents Isidered to be of Holy Significance by large Groups of peoples of Many Cultures and Iliefs.  Is anyone of these People's Holy Text less TRUE than the Ible?  So when Isidering the Iportance and Significance of the Ible the I have to do so in Relevance to the Specific point of interest one is interested in and do a comparative study of that point of interest against ALL the Sacred Texts and what they say in relevance to that topic.  With other Proven Methods of testing it is NOT Impossible to seperate FACT from BELIEFS from METHAPHORS from SIMILIES from STORIES from EXAMPLES.

There is much to know about the Ible before one tries to Overstand first of all it's Significance within RastaFari and then it's place in the world as a Holy Text.  Whether or not the Ible can be Scientifically Proven to be FACT against recorded Istory and so forth.  For Example Did a noted father actually in reality pull a knife and bring it down to his son's throat at the direction of JahJah or was that just an Example of how FAR man's faith is requied to go to be true to Jah...Would the Jah that InI Revere put His Children through such a decision?  Slaughter one's son like a goat/baby sheep/lamb to scrafice or you cannot be my servant?

The same with the wine and it's Istory when associated with the Ible.  Ham Seth an Jephet....  Yes, InI Know the whole Ham and Black being One and the same.  How Istorically and Scientifically correct can those stories, Facts , Methaphors be???  What Have and Have Not been Proven?  Did Noah Drink TOO much wine made from grape (Literally).  Was he plastered laying on the ground where he was discovered Naked by Ham or did Ham really sexually molest his father?  Did Noah curse his son due to his own lack of Itrol over drinking a bit too much?  And what about the two daughters who planned to get their father drunk with wine made of grapes in order to suduce him and impregnate themselves as they were the last of the family line?  Incest?  Literally or Methaphor?  The dietary Laws of Deuteronomy...Literally?  For a time?  For a specific people and circumstance?  Can 21st century people even follow these laws if we wished?  How would our local police department and animal rights group like to bump into us slashing goats/baby sheep's necks in our backyards in front of our neighbours because we were following the Laws as written in the Ible.  Because yes, Yesus DID porport to have a weakness for the sweet drink that comes from the selfsame vines to be avoided in earlier generations.

So there are Choices when it comes to What one will choose to follow or not follow based on what one is seeking at that moment in time.  What level is one at in one's Iritual journey and so forth.  For one man so and so may be required for him to see clearly for another he may only need a new prescription for his glasses.  InI make home made fruit wines and do so after many years of studying the Sacred Texts from around the world, none more Scared to InI than the next, and the Istory of Wine for mankind and InI felt sure of InI's Reasons and Decision to Itinue the tradition with Pride.  That does not mean that another is not free to Choose to do otherwise due to the results of their own searching and where they are in their own Trod.

One does not have choose this way or that overnight in order to Trod this road.  One begins and ends one's journey independent of what else is possible or not possible.  It has been thousands of years with Holy men from all cultures studying to Prove or DisProve one aspect of a Holy Text or another and they still cannot say for certain from any Religious Group that their Holy Text Is the only Truth, Some Truth, A Piece of the Truth or the Absolute.  Who are we to assume we'll get All the answers as soon as we ask the question?  No.. This Trod is a Journey of Becoming and as such it is a Process.

Take your time and start studying is InI's answer to the I this day. In this area/topic of Ible and Sacred Texts.. It is InI's humble Opinion that Many are RIGHT and Many are Wrong.

Nuff Love
