k so this week my parents seized my plant. and once again gave a hissy fit about marijuana and you dont need it.
i send him this in an email
When the system is hyper-aroused, as in today's lifestyle, marijuana calms. The significance of this fact cannot be ignored. It explains the increased creativity reported as a part of the marijuana experience, because when both sides of brain processes are heightened, both types of brain activity are greater. The left brain notices more, while the right brain receives more. This is the unification of logic and intuition. The term "expansion of consciousness" is explained physiologically as a "shifting of brain emphasis from one-sidedness to balance" (Sugarmena and Tarter, 1978), which fits precisely with the feeling called "high." (p. 35)
Excerpts from "Benefits of Marijuana" Joan Bello (Bello, pg 35)
Seeing it as you were/was interested in Buddhism I would expect you to have more deeper thoughts and more open minded. In a natural herb that none the less statistically has been proven scientifically that there are long term effects from the plant.
He then replies and says:
Even though Marijuana is a plant and is a "natural" substance, it is still a drug. Many drugs come from plant materials such such as opium (poppie seed pods) and aspirin (willow tree bark.) There are many "natural substances" that wil outright kill you. The most notable of these is the amanita mushroom family. So, being natural is no guarantee that a substance is safe to ingest. Buddhism taught me that the potential of your person is amazing and unlimited. If you were to be able to harness the full power of your own mind and body, you could levitate your self 12 feet into the air. You have the potential for great things - without drugs. It only takes discipline to focus your mind and body to obtain the desired results. Remember cause and effect? Kaare, my experience with marijuana has never been a positive one. I will admit that it can be relaxing for some and I hear that is does have some medical benefits for cancer patients. And there are worse vices. But the people I have seen that partake in pot as a lifestyle end up being LOOSERS. They tend to use the drug to get high and "check out" of life. They lose their drive to succeed in life. (Maybe it's the drug or maybe it is the type of people that smoke it - I'm not sure.) Marijuana, as a mental enhancement, has long been discredited. If you think that it makes you smarter, give some credit to yourself and not the drug. You have been blessed with a great mind and body. Take care of it. Mom and I just want to give you the best chance at having a good future.

1080man, it seems from my limited view like you've been blessed with loving parents who want to communicate with you. Personally, I'd honor their wishes while you're under their care. Along the way you can be candid about your plans when you are fully self-reliant. You'll benefit from the knowledge you gained from your relationship with them and their desire for you to use your will, even when its used for self-restraint. Glory to Jah

i had quite the conversation with my dad and said how Iam a minority. i smoke the herb for my religion. find inner deep feelings within, and helps me excel in school. and a lot more. (background check- i have no bad grades. im somewhat a leader in a big crowd at my school always have been and going in the right direction in life) i assured him this does not change anything. and he was pretty convinced but the only thing he could say is that its illiegal.... thats it and he wont abide by something illegal.
idk what to do... i cant just stop i can do it monthly that works for me but they say its gotta stop.
i dont think im going to go with this..

Brudda 1080man, see the great thing about Herb is that it forces people to deal with sooooo many issues. Do you have the strength of conviction to really stand up for this one? It sounds like you do...!!!!! So many people will back down when it means taking on the big guns, it takes massive guts to stand up and say this is wrong, I know the truth and I'm willing to potentially sacrifice everything to be true. Not many have the courage to flout the laws of the land and completely put their faith in Jah and righteousness when their backs are against the wall, condemnation abounds on every side and they will have the face the fate of being "underground" and "criminalized", either nature bound, living in the forest as a Herbal guerilla, or living a kind of closet life, or even scarier, becoming a freedom fighter, openly campaigning, dissenting, informing, being taken to court, or having to lie low, financially impoverished, basically outcaste from the society or being relegated to the under of underclasses. MAn the thing the I is taking on is not for the faint hearted, most who find themselves friend of the Herb, have been ground into the dirt......injured, driven to wits end, offended by societies values, so much so that the most solace and torment relief they find in a persecuted plant, whos possession can brutally enslave them if they refuse to fight for freedom..... Bruther welcome to the underground, a vast network of roots people, who refuse to let the tide of modernism, chemical warfare, a society that fears and subjugates nature and natures people, dictate to them, condemn them to a life of CHEM-I-KILL dependance or distract them from living a life in tune and harmony with natural Law, Sovereign Law, Iniversal law and the great natural resource that our Creator has provided for we. Give thanks!!!! and If the I wishes to continue speaking with the I (me Nyah) on ways I and I can support the I in Yah struggle and rights for herbal Iditation, yah can speak with we in Iyah site, address below. We have a whole village with many Cannabis crusaders and even a Hemp Embassy here, so my resources regarding this issue are formidable. Blessings and Love Sistah Empress Nyah

i would love some more information on cannabis. i have read a couple books (lester grinspoon) and have won many many debates (formal too) with teachers, parents, and even big headed goody goody kids.
facts and information is a key part in getting others to listen.
all we need are brave people to share it..

Greetings 1080man I applaude and admire you for your determination and for standing up for what you believe in. However maybe some sort of comprimise is needed in this instance, would you not agree? If not out of Raspect for your father's wishes(who feels he has The I's best interests at heart),then maybe for some peace and unity in the brethern' home. I'm not tryin' to patronize in anyway,so please dont be offended, but it is the man's house after all. Ganja isn't going anywhere, and the love and wisdom of a good father can be more important in times of tribulation. . . blessings, love and luck for the future BB
