My dad wrote this book.  .  You an get it from amazon. co. uk

Skinheads, Rastas and Hippies reflects John’s involvement in the alternative culture of the 1970s through to the 1990s.   He saw a common denominator between the different ethnic and sub-culture groups i.  e.   Rastas mixing with hippies/skinheads etc.   It was these experiences coupled with his own diagnosis of schizophrenia that lead John to put pen to paper.   A truly entertaining read, the story reflects John’s upbringing and youth in the mixed and sometimes volatile Brixton in South London.  .

Wonderful information.   My man is doing a degree in music culture and production at University of East London and this is the very basis of the music culture course.  I will get a copy of this book.

Just another thought Rootz - I was probably around the same places at the same time as your Dad !   Scary isnt it - especially when the young people think us oldies are stuffy and boring.    We've been there, done it and now written the books to prove it hahaha.

I have ordered a copy on line and when it arrives I will give it to Dread to take to University of East London as it is one of the things he is studying as part of his music culture and theory degree.  I might just read it first though !!!!
