Bred,
this brother is just symptom of a bigger phenomena.......!!!!!!
I was shocked when I finally got around to visiting OZ reggae
coz the thing is predominately bigging up slackness and Jamaican "passa passa" and such things and values.
The regulars are nearly all dancehall dj, and when I sight up some morality and raspect for wholesome vaules as reggae is the kings music, nuff ones try deny that it is the Kings music and mock i as some kind of religious fanatic.
i have nought against the beauty that is sexuality, yet pure sleaze and sexist, promiscuity should not be the main element that people identify when it comes to the Kings music, neither the extremes of homophobia which incites youth to victimize homosexuals, nor blatant advocating of homosexuality as an healthy lifestyle choice, as some seem to be advocating on that site.
So bred, I felt offended and shocked, as a roots reggae artist who has spent her whole adult life, other that the time spent rearing a family, performing, jamming, with a so-far small amount of recording under we belt in this country, I felt very little raspect or support from that sight, bigging itself up as promoting "OZ Reggae"....I asked dem to change the site name to Oz Dancehall, as that reflects more accutately, the nature of the bulk of sentiment in tha place/site.Not gunna happen tho.
although ironically, dem are hitting we web site bigger than anywhere.
Still, some irieness gwan dere, I don't much go tho, for above reasons....yet if the I were to cruise in and talk to dem....perhaps i would not feel like such a fish outa water that should, by reprasentation, be in amongst same ocean dwellers, ones advocating "Oz Reggae"
Still yah know....sean paul is ova the barrel for dats what sells in the commercial world of stardom, nuff yoot revel in their own emerging sexuality and having a bit a money to show off....wanna go to da club and find a partner to have some fun wid .
The revolutionary stuff of the Marleys as Pillars of His Majesties Souljahs and the likes is someting babylon/dem wid da money are scared of and dem will try to bury we as soon as dem able, any ting wid booty and bling dem can handle as it doesn't show up dems atrocious immorality in their "rich boys club" worldly world.....
So Bruddas like Sean, who want ta make a buck to support his family hafe follow the trends or suffer in pocket.
Still I love the african stylee dancing dem display in de clips!!!!!!
Me as an artist/being love, love, love the movement to riddim that takes I to de ROOTS!!!!!!!HEIGHTS!!!!!!
Iyah life!!!!!!!!
Blessings and Love
