Hi,

I'm a Catholic and have learned a bit of the bible etc but I'm very curious in my history as i haven't learned alot it here in the Netherlands.  I have done lots of digging on the net and of course in different bibles.

I don't see my self as a Rastafarian cause i don't believe that god is HIM TAFARI, I do have the utmost respect for HIM his history is most intriguing as is the rasta way of living.

GOD, Jesus, Tafari are on different levels in my opinion.

I'm not trying to make a fuss here on the forum.  I just want to learn more and hope i can find some points of views here on the forums concerning the rasta belief.

My first question (and please correct me if I'm wrong!):

The Holy Trinity is a concept that made his appearance in 325ad (first counsel of Nicaea) why do the rasta use this concept as it is apparently made up ?

Second question:

I like the Babylon concept of the Rastafarian's, it difficult to explain but could you please try ?

For me i think i understand the Babylon concept but i have never discussed it with a Rastafarian.
for example, i was born in the Netherlands but i never learned anything of my own history (Suriname & Africa) while the Netherlands was one of the biggest slave traders on this planet.  i call this a form of Babylon.

Third question
I know HIM Tafari is a important part of the Rastafarian belief, but does every Rastafarian see HIM as god ?
i asked this cause i hear not every rasta believes this.

I hope i didn't disrespected anyone, if i did i apologize.

to your third question ABC
not every RAS
see's Selassie I HIM
as god
i know quite alot not myself but that believe
yes he is the main person of Rastafari
but he is no more invincible that any other human
he is a very very intelligent man who had
lots of wisdom to share. it just so happened
that Marcus Garvey had previously stated
"The great lion of judah HIM will be crownd
and unity and peace will over run africa"
this was true a great man was crownd king
Selassie I
wether he was a god or not is yet another
thing that has cannot be sstated its the
persons beliefs that change.
