do you have to be black to volunteer? i am white, but my husband is west indian.. my sons are mixed race, and we are a Ras family. education, aspiration( please do not mistake this for greed..merely the belief that we are capable of anything we choose to accomplish with hard work, respect for others and a positive attitude) and self worth is paramount to us as parents. we live in west London, and i would love to be involved in such a programme. i have 7 years experience of youth work through play,an NVQ in early years (0-8 years) and an enhanced disclosure. i do have some health issues at present, but could still manage a few hours a week, if the travel wasnt too much, and the work mostly sedentary.
