What is really Prostitution and who is a Prostitute?

1... Prostitution is using sex as a way of making money or for any other material benefit,it might be in any form.Commercial sex workers are the kinda prostitutes IandI is trying to stress on.

2...A Prostitute is one who sleeps with more than one sexual Partner whether it is done for any material gain.

some one said better will it be if Prostitution is legalized cos one gat to use whatever he or she has to make money or to survive but IandI say NO to this kinda thing....The Government must ban any form of Prostitution and close up all Brotels where it is been done,Prostitution is becoming a menace to the Society we live,it has increased Child Trafficking and Women feels the pain most.I was walking on the streets of Milan some two months back...Oh Jah,have mercy of them...i couldn't believe what i saw.
Ma Fellow African Sisters messing up around all the four corners of the street. One gat to know dat the Body is d Temple of Jah and once it is defiled...JAH is then defiled in u.For Men,i will like to advice that u all keep away from Prostitutes cos their way is fully says Jah and it leads to destruction.
Peace and Love upon IANDI.

Bless,

Some women have no other way to feed their kids. I don't agree with it, it is soul-destroying. How do you think that 'job' make a woman feel?

ABUSED. HURT. DIRTY. DESTROYED.

Like what do you think about a prostitute who catch HIV from a punter just to gain more money cos he doesn't want to use condom?

You think those women want to be prostitute? They're running behind the bread.

But those who run behind the crack, heroin- pimp send them out, that's a big problem in UK, they wanna legalise prostitution, then they talk about legalisation of heroin, cocaine, crack, then they talk about legalise guns, legalise gay marriage, let gay adopt children...Babylon wants society to be without morals.

But the real evil woman is the slag on the street who doesn't call herself prostitute, she specialize in trying to f**k married men just to feel self-esteem cos she's nothing, that's EVIL. Infidelity is EVIL. The woman who sends her daughter out to work as prostitute, that's evil.

But the system that downpress the woman into starvation, that's the evil behind many prostitution, not the woman. Slag is more prostitute than many sex workers.

Don't you think?

Yes RasRossi

I hear ya!

One could say that any way of selling something by means of sex is prostitution. That would include using sex or the suggestion of sex to sell ones product in advertising, magazines etc... to promote their music, film etc... I guess that one could also say that selling anything via immorality is a form of prostitution... no?

The relationship of love is ignored, smitten & abolished!

It is exploitation of the weakness in human nature. It exploits both the one selling & the one buying drawing all parties into sin.

One must be careful not to indulge in such things - in this day & age where it is accepted, indeed promoted as normal, that isn't easy.

Peace

I must say, I am naïve on this issue. I simply don't understand the concept, especially where it involves pimps. Why on earth would a woman subject herself to such things and then turn around and give her VERY hard-earned money to another? Regardless of whether a pimp is involved, I guess I think there are always alternatives. But again, perhaps I am simply naïve.

I have known women who weren't "street walkers" but may have had a Sugar Daddy. To me, that is the same thing. If you accept money for sexual favors then you are prostituting yourself. I just don't get it. One would really have to distance themselves from the act, and I'm not sure I could do that. I believe in soul ties. When a woman gives herself to a man, a part of her soul is forever tied to that man. So to just have sex with random men means you are giving bits and pieces of your soul to every pervert that comes along. And the worst part is that for these sex acts all you get is a few dollars anyway!!! I just don't understand how someone can rationalize it. But then again, I've never had to because I've never been in such a situation. So maybe I just don't know.

In response to QueenJerusalem's comments about women going after married men, I agree. No woman should ever give a married man a second look. It is simply wrong, not to mention a waste of her time. That said, I want to also mention that it goes both ways. Most times it is the married man who pursues the woman. All he has to do is remove his wedding band and the woman has no way of knowing if he is married or not. I think it is important for women to realize this rather than only blaming the woman.

One must ask self- where does sex begin and end as an influence on our lifes- biologically we find it as the cause of our very exsistence, And afterword it can be said to motivate our every action however "benign" onto death. In such a light the worst crime perpetrated by western christianity is to call this blessing of nature unnatural, un-normal or dirty. True christianty does nothing of the sort so this is not an attack on jesus only the way the sciptures have been used.  I think nothing is inherintly wrong with prostitution, only the disease and misery that follow it around.  Sexual health will bring about all around health in people and the first step to this health is our acceptance of our sexuality.  Sexual repression is the reason that sex ends up causing so many problems- if it were openly disscussed in an honest manner without shame- people would gain control over it and use it instead of having it use them.  A women can support herself and a man can release tension through prostitution, but babys or disease cannot become the result. This can be accomplished only if we accept that prostitution has a place in society and regulate it accordingly.

elijah, how do you rationalize that prostitution is good for women? There are MANY other ways for a woman to make money. But even that is beside the point. Women who are prostitutes don't feel good about being in that situation. I am sure that given the opportunity, no woman would CHOOSE prostitution as an occupation if they had a viable alternative and did not have self esteem issues. Prostitution is about more than one supporting themself or releasing tension. A lot of men who go see prostitutes are married, so if it were only about releasing tension, well they have a wife to assist with that.

Your rationale would be fine and dandy if there were not ill effects from prostitution, but there are many. I think the worst of it is heaped upon the woman. Let's forget about the stigma attached. Women are not meant to be used simply as a tool for releasing stress and tension. We are feeling human beings and when used as an object, do you not think that would have some affect on the female psyche? And if so, how then can you rationalize that prostitution is good for all involved?

Carla your right prostitution as it exsists today cannot be called good. But like I was saying openly talking about it is the only way to get rid of those stereotypes and problems. If I were a women I think it would be pretty cool to have sex all day and make lottssa money for it, but I also know that only certain women are called for this, Especially when its properly regulated.  Part of prostitution becoming holistically healthy has to do with letting go of the attitudes that are traditionally held about sex, the body, and the soul... and would take some time to really get into- I was just throwing out my two cents.

Greetings every one in one JEHOVAH ALMIGHTY ONE.

Who is the prostitute? Well this is my opinion about this subject.

And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. REVELATION 17:5.

Now we can see that babylon is the real guilty about all that atrocity that happened in the past and is happening still in our world of today. Babylon has made people believe that what is wrong, is right, and what is right. is wrong.

When we see our sister on the street, selling her body as goods, you think that's  right? No, it's not right, because we are the temple of JAH, in body, soul and mind, heart, so, no one has the power to destroy the temple of JAH, but we are fighting against the Babylon, and Babylon is strong, but in JAH is the victory.

Why do I say so? it's because Babylon is a confusion, and this world is under confusion, just because many people are rebuking the word of prophesy.

Bless in the name of HIM Selassie FarI, Leo The lion of Cuba

Please don't take this the wrong way, but you are coming from a male perspective. While some women may have a higher sex drive than others, it does not necessarily follow that they desire to have sex with countless strangers. Anyone who would do this has other issues that need to be addressed.

Only certain woman are called for this? NO WOMAN is called for that as no woman is called to ONLY be used for sex. All things being equal, no woman wants to be a prostitute or is suited for prostitution.  I think that is a stereotype.

I would agree that certain traditional attitudes toward sex have caused a lot of problems in open discussion of healthy sexual expressions. And I think that the rigidity with which it is sometimes viewed has caused a pendulum swing toward the perverse.

Greetings,

Carla,

I know what you are saying about pimps, I don't understand either, but I know that many young girls, especially girls with a lot of problems, runaways, homeless, etc, meet some 'boyfriend', naively 'fall in love', are too inexperienced to know better, end up on crack/heroin from his 'freebies'- then he sends her to work to pay for her habit. Also addicts often end up with pimps to pay for a habit. Pimps are generally dealers too- easy money. This is a problem in the UK. And I agree, not only women are guilty in infidelity, my dad was a womanizer for one.

Elijah,

I don't know how you can say so flippantly how you'd feel as a female sex worker. I don't think you can say how you'd feel as a male sex worker either, unless you have experienced it personally. Men have feelings too and it still hurts a man to be treated like nothing, like a commodity.

I have known sex workers, and believe me, they did not regard it as pretty cool, but as desperate measures.

Prostitution is soul destroying.

Sex is for love, not a game.

Also, I don't think that legalisation is the answer. The majority of street workers in the UK for a start are there because they have a serious drug addiction problem. Free, residential, drug rehabilitation is necessary. Not methadone, not legalisation of prostitution, not legalisation of prescribed heroin for addicts- but FREE rehabs. Legalisation only worsens the problem, whilst covering it up by changing the general public attitude: BABYLON MANIPULATION!!!! BRAINWASHING!!!

I agree with Carla- good words Sister.

The problem is one and the same- the whole street culture and its prohibition.
I say legalize drugs and prostition. Educate and control every ascept of it. Take away the mischevious aura that attracts people in the first place. Thereby controling disease, violence, and prison overpopulation caused by prohibition.  Eventually making people realize (if true) that there are better ways to live, not by thowing them in jail but by education and letting them learn first hand. The kind of prostitution Im talking about is a very very controlled and accepted part of society. The welfare system should take care of welfare cases- so that if a person is selling themselves on the street out of need the resposibility becomes that of the person willing to buy it.  I was speaking hypothetically that in a legal and controlled environment earning a living by copulating a few times a day, yes sounds nice.

Yeah, man, but Elijah, it may sound nice if you've not been there- have you thought of the psychological consequenses of one woman, or even one man who has this in his/her past and wants to move on? Pretty tough, especially if she wants her family- she has to be honest with her man- or he'll find out one day anyway. I just think it's a no go.

So you think sex is nothing to do with love?

I've thought of all the pros (no pun intended) and cons of the whole legalize drugs/prostitution thing, it's hard for many to accept either side, but for InI Jah is against that. Even though we do have personal choice...

So what do you think about pimps? Should they be legal too? In a legal brothel, who would make more money? The girls or the owner? Legalized pimping sounds like a real laugh, ha ha ha ha.

If the government want to legalise something or prohibit something, it's always for their financial gain, not for the people's. Why is ganja illegal??? And alcohol legal?

I say legalise the herb first. Forget the rest.

How would I rehabilitate non-drug prostitution? With better opportunities for these women in all aspects of life, from housing to education to good employment and a self-esteem course. Better than prison? Being in poverty is not a crime, but causing it is.

Bless.
