Firstly sorry Iman havent been on the forums, times of late.. Just external commitments etc etc.


Right, Iman have just learnt that Haile Selassie I may have mad an affair with a english woman when he was in Bath England for many years.

Now it hurts me to think that this happened,, especially with Queen Menen.


Before the replies come in, saying rumour or false story. This has come from someone who knew Selassie I personally. A sister of a brother who died a couple of months ago. And she said to me last week that her friends mother had an affair with the king..

have any of you heard of this before?

If its true, what does it mean, does it matter?

It clearly matters in terms of your faith. Perhaps what you had considered the Faith was not? In my opinion if the other opinion had "shaken" it, yes.

And let's say they weren't lying. HIM comes from the line of King Solomon, who had many many wives! Some of the Bredrin have multiple of women too... just look at Bob Marley. In terms of Biblical society, laying with another woman wasn't seen as too bad. "Adultery" usually meant sleeping with another mans wife, as opposed to sleeping with another woman who isn't your wife.

If it helps the I, Iman am living in Bath at this time and I have access to newspaper archives from the times His Majesty was visiting. Plenty of rumours were spread after Selassie I left the city and Iman wouldn't be surprised if this was just another one. If I can find a reference to it in the papers, it shouldn't be hard to tell if it is truth or propogana.

Dem seh she was married three times before she wedded TafarI (as according to them, on the advice of a older uncle) I also heard that she did have children from the previous marriages too. But even if a so it go, so what?

Having an affair and marrying a separated woman is not the same thing. I don't think any of this information ever was secret. A bit like thinking a rumour is true because it is very hard to verify.

Yo Oskar, a separated woman is one thing, but when a separated woman becomes that way on the say so of a scheming uncle then that's a different ting.

But this goes straight to what I'm saying. Rootsridge is saying that his faith is shaken by the information he has come across re H.I.M.
but in trying to limit the I-AM to a human perspective, then ism's such as this will surely arise. 

How can the universal creator of all things become so wrapped up in the urgings of mere mortals? It defies common sense doesn't it?

Wow, a friend of a friend has a mother who maybe had an affair.... Anyone questioning the sanity of not keeping faith in that should ask themselves why they don't have faith in the almighty. I mean, the evidence is equally intriguing.

Dont listen to rumour then go spread it.  If the I want to know if a thing is true go find out.  rumour and truth are not the same.
