Not Rasta yet. . . learnin all I can! Best view on life and the world=Rasta! I'm a white girl so reading that Rastafari started out as hatred for whites makes me sad, but I understand it was from everything that black people had to go through at the hands of oppressive white people :'( :'( :'( (<-----frownies don't do my hurting justice). . . we can still look ahead! Join hands! Be One!

I am here to have open ears to all! I want to learn!

"reading that Rastafari started out as hatred for whites "  Really ?, well know this... there more to learn sistren.  Look into the Book Of Life and you will see...That Heeeeeee Rules us ALL.  It not a white man ting.  It not a Black man ting.  It is a PEOPLE thing.
  Those that are able to see that the Heart of love is far more powahFULL than the Hate which attract most, Lines are Easy to Draw.  Look beyond the Solid and a see what is in~between. 
  The Half, The Half, The Half....That has Never Been Told .
  Seek and You shall find, but do so with an Open and Humble heart.

Greetings.  I too am new here but I am studying Rastafarianism and agree with surfmon.  From what I have learned, Rasta didn't start as a hatred of a certain type of people, it started as a reaction to, and hatred of oppression and oppressive systems.
