Hello everyone. I was a member of this forum some time ago and this is my first post in over a year. I used to be very in to the teaching of Rastafari and indeed I considered myself a Rastafarian. However the smoking of Marijuana has to some extent ruined my entire life. Not knowing that I had a history of slight mental illness in my family I smoked Marijuana on more than one occasion whilst attempting to pray ect, however after each time I smoked my Depersonalization became worse and worse. Depersonalization for anyone who wishes to know briefly is the feeling that you are being controlled by another thing or person, a feeling that you are actually outside your body, it is hard to explain to people who do not have it. Now I fear I will never live life to the extent I once did. Days feel like minutes to me and I question whether my entire life was actually just a dream? I have not come here to blame or be hostile to you but I just want to ask you to not advocate the use of Marijuana to others blindly. Whether you believe Marijuana can induce mental illness is irrelevant, perhaps it wasn't the Marijuana that caused this but it is the only thing in my life which could have which leads me to reason it was the cause. I just ask you not to tell children and young ones in their teens to smoke Marijuana and that it is some mystical healing herb because it could be their mind that pays the price.
Thanks for reading guys and girls.

Listen up boys and girls you do not have to smoke herb to be Rasta - seen ? Herb is not a party thing so keep your fingers away from it if you can't take it....
@Davian
I surely hope you recover from your depersonalization and get back on your feet again.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience, It effects everyone differently. I personally support the legalization of marijuana, but I defiantly agree that its not for everyone, especially those with a predisposition to mental illness. Even without that predisposition people need to be careful and be mentally prepared.

Look blood, I used to have a similar effect when I smoked the herb before, during, and after studying the scripture. I'd feel like I was watching my day from a television screen and I'd be unsociable to the say the least. To my discovery, this only happened when I was usin it to excess. Upon lowering the amount I smoked, the creepy effects were no longer present. Indulgence is a good thing, but not to excess, and that goes with anything. Jah meant for us to enjoy ourselves here, so long as it's not hurtin our mental or physical health, or that of anyone else's. If the feeling is only a temporary thing for ya when you're smokin the herb, I'd suggest usin it in very small doses or just stayin away from it altogether if it's doin more harm than good. I hope you find what's best for ya. Jah be with ya.

Thank you for all the positive responses. That was one of the things that I used to love about Rastafari and it's followers. I haven't smoked Marijuana for over a year now blazekief91, I have the depersonalization 24/7 but thank you for your response none the less.

Yes I, I and I must be careful with the herb ganja. I and I will always advocate it but I and I do not deny that it is a powerful thing. Using it right requires I and I to train I and I selves in its use and not use it frivolously. Babylon's blanket ban of the herb prevents I and I from educating the youth about its uses and dangers and from keeping it from the hands of those who are too young or not suited to using it.
It is sad to hear about the your case Davian but Iman must still ask why you chose to leave I and I Rastafari Livity after this thing happened to you? Ganja is not an essential thing in I and I Livity after all. In fact Iman would say that it is beneficial for every Rasta to learn to go without herb before (or even if) I and I take it up.
Blessed love.

Davian, what can you do to get your "I" back inside you?
I've thrown my I out before- It's not a happy place.
Praying for you.
Bless.

@Davian
Was the herb possibly contaminated? There is increasing awareness of this epidemic in Babylon. I and I have had similar things happen, but went away after time. I and I pray that you will not give up on JAH. The God of Rastafari is JAH, not herb.
Ras Moses
I and I will pray for your well being.

I am a strong advcocat of the healing powers of the herb. If it was legal my life would be very much easier and alot moore plesent. But I would NEVER advocate it to any youths, acording to what ive read studies shows that if used to early in life it can rob you of alot of the problem solving you learn while growing up. I also know it is not for everyone, to some I know it has miraculus healing powers and to some i know it just makes them sick.
