Well, recently my cousin married a Mormon guy, so she converted to Mormon.  That got me thinkin' about religion, and as of the last few weeks I've been researching on Rasta.  I am not going to go as far as saying I am one, I feel I need to know all that I can first, I am interested in it so how/where did you guys learn about it?

Ah yes, the Mormons always have been great at getting people to hop on board. Anyway, I first heard about Rasta through researching the various views of Yeshua (Jesus) and came upon the view that his majesty is the 2nd Coming of Christ. To be honest, this view made me lift an eyebrow upon hearing it, until I did a little more thorough research, when it all started makin sense. What first attracted me to Rastafari was the lack of authority figures and the loose chain when it comes to dogma. I loved how smokin a J, reading the scripture, and viewing it in whatever way you felt was most appropriate, was perfectly acceptable. No authority figures telling you what you can and can't think, what it's okay to view as symbolic and what's not, what people you can and can't look to as inspirations, etc. I love the freedom and the relatively universal acceptance within the faith. You're free to live your life the way you please, and give thanks and praise to Jah in the way you see fit.
