Greetins all,

Hope this finds you all in the best health, I would like to ask all of your opinons on somthing.

In my school, Daily, I get asked about my faith, what diet InI follow, what we do, wats rasta? Who's bob marley? people telling me, "you can't be rasta, because yuh nah have dreads, yuh nah smoke Weed and yuh not black" so, Seen as though a lot of the youth, through no fault of there own, (because of the images portrayed by fi media) think that ALL WE do is smoke and talk with a Jamaican  accent. SO... Today I talked to my head of year,  she says that I should write to  I local MP, so this is wha I shall! Also I am talking about the u.k so yuh can contact the National Curriculam people and then hope fully we can get this done, I know there are so many diffrent belifes but yes, What do yuh prefer a lot of students who are under the impression that all we do is smoke, or would yuh prefer the teacher sayin there are many diffent beliefs, which they may go onto research, I feel that is my duty and your duty for this too be layed out across fi nation and then the world! Maybe i am aimin to high, But im going to fight for this... I hope you will too! I have rastafari in my heart and Jahs guidance throughout! So yuh can contact the people for the curiculem here:

Thanks a lot for taking the time too read this and I do know that there has been things in the past where people have tried, but paganism has jus been recognized as a religion here in fi uk, Rasta has been recognized longer I think so, they want to teach only what they think they should, NOT THE TRUTH!

As far as I am aware, Rastafari is already recognized in Britain. Although Britain has no official system of recognition for religions, its generally accepted that if something shows up on the census in any significant number then it is a recognised movement. According to the last census there are 5000 Rastas in Britain so it is technically recognised. Whether it is taught about in schools is a different matter. I know for a fact that Rastafari is included on some religious studies lessons in primary and secondary schools but it is in no way universally taught.

As for whether I and I should fight for recognition, the answer for that is obvious to I in that I and I don't have to fight for that (in England at least). Rastafari is generally recognised by schools and employers thanks to the efforts of I and I elders. What I and I do still have to fight against is the stereotypes the I is talking about. Most people's perceptions of Rasta seem to be influenced more by those cartoon Rastas with the big spliff and the big smile I and I see splashed on lighters, ashtrays and t-shirts. Only through hard work can I and I dispel that stereotype. Iman will be blunt and say that I think the I's plan with local MPs will do absolutely nothing. Politicians might have some kind of control over the minds of the people but that isn't something that I and I get involved with. Only through I and I works can I and I fight this, just as I and I elders did before I and I.

Blessed love.

Blessings for the reply,

Greetins, Iman disagree, It is because children are not educated that they stereotype!
imagine... you are young, You know nothings about muslims and you read this! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1345754/Somalias-al-Shabab-bans-mixed-sex-handshakes.html?ITO=1490

Then you will think that all Muslims are this ridiculous, When I and I know that they are clearly not, Because I have a friend, He is muslim, who could not care less wether a girlfriend of his wore a vale, could not care less about "death to the west".... He wants peace and equality jus like us!
But because I and I learned about this in school I know that this is not the case. So if I did not know anything about Muslim's then I would think that they jus liked blowing up people, I and I would not look at the Koran, I and I ( and most kids) would think like this! Its only because we have talked about this that we know that they don't!
Its because they are not educated, So please do join fi FIGHT!

Many blessings

It is true that the lack of education about Rastafari is what causes the stereotype, just as it does with Muslims like the I pointed out. It is ignorance that causes it.

However, Iman would not trust babylon to provide that education about I and I. The I is right that the youth need education about Rastafari but it must be I and I through I and I works and example that provide it. If someone says "Oh, I know a Rastaman" and the people laugh and ask how much ganja I and I smoke and the person replies "That's his business, but the man is a hard working, righteous man" then I and I are succeeding.

As for whether Iman will 'join the fight' as the I says, Iman am already fighting it, just as every Rasta must, but not politically. In I opinion writing to MPs will do nothing. I and I put no faith in those politricksters. I and I do not vote for them, since that gives them the right to represent I and I with their wickedness, so they have feel no need to represent or serve I and I since I and I will not lend them I and I votes and put them into power.
It might be ironic to use the term used by babylon in their folly war in Iraq but it really is a battle of hearts and minds. If I and I are to fight it, I and I must win over hearts and minds away from babylon so that the people see the truth of Rasta rather than some babylonian stereotype of lazy, ganja smoking hippies.
The way I and I do that is simple. I and I must live as an example to follow. I and I Livity must be pure and I and I works must be righteous and those who see it will know the truth. True that there will always be those deep in babylon that fight I and I down despite I and I righteousness, but that will always be the case in babylon. Those who have eyes to see will see and those who have ears to hear will hear.

Blessed love.

Iman thought I would bring this Reasoning forward again with something one of I friends just told I that Iman found surprising. It seems that on the childrens TV channel CBeebies at the moment there is an adaptation of the Rasta children's books Rastamouse. Now Iman have not read any of these books or seen this new TV series but I know the books were written by a Rastaman and hopefully that means the message is Righteous one.
It's not in school I know but early childhood is where learning begins.

Blessed love.
