ETHIOPIA ... ONE OF THE FIRST CHRISTIAN NATIONS KNOWN TO MAN despite this, italy, another "christian" nation invaded ethiopia. for what reason i don't know, maybe they felt threatened as you say. makes me think proclaimed faith don't really matter but warring nations are a threat to their neighbors for sure. his majesty speak on this repeatedly for nations to stand together and protect the weak when threatened by the strong and mighty. reading about his majesty i am continually amazed by his ability to forgive and reconcile with the enemy.

I remember you Empress. Here is a link which was interesting, for it pulled some points from various sources I had read in the past and put them together in one writing. http://www.fhi.net/fhius/ethiopiafamine/christian.html"Axum was one of the largest and greatest cities of the Roman Empire, and because Rome dominated Red Sea trading, it was only a matter of time before Christianity would reach Ethiopia's shore (Marcus 7)." Oscar, I think Rome invaded to re-establish the empire from days gone by and to gain foothold on the birthplace of civilization for both its geographic location and acess to Africas raw materials.

Much truth in that Oskar.
Truth is that Ethiopia was a Christian nation long before the catholic church reared it's head. The Ethiopian Orthodox church is the oldest on the face of the earth.
Blessed love.

Back in the times of Yesus Kristos, I believe, King Solomon was a Christian, and distracted Ethiopia from the worship of the sun, moon, and stars, and educated them and told them to praise the God of Israel. The new Zion, Ethiopia, Yesus Kristos, once the Tabernacle was transported there. If I'm not mistaken, King Solomon was very influential in spreading Christianity throughout the land. Then again, theres a VAST difference between Christianity in those days and the pagan Christianity of today. That Christianity is Rastafari. Ras Moses

The I still needs to learn much, especially given the namesake the I has taken. Solomon came long before the coming of Christ. Hundreds of years before there was even a whisper of the Christ. It was the Ark of the Covenant containing the commandments passed to Moses that Solomon's folly caused to be taken away into Ethiopia by his son Menelik. It was supposedly the wisdom passed from Solomon to Makeda, the Queen on Sheba that caused Ethiopia to turn to the God of Isreal before the son she bore him returned and took away the Ark of the Covenant after Solomon fell from wisdom.
Christianity in Ethiopia in the form of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church did not arrive until after the time of Christ obviously, but it was certainly one of the first places that accepted Christ and remains the first and oldest Christian nation on Earth. The biblical account speaks of Phillip baptising an Ethiopian court official on the road from Jerusalem to Gaza which probably contains at least some element of truth. Historically, the Ethiopian Orthadox Church as an organization has it's origins around the fourth century AD in the Gregorian calendar that is widely in use today. This is during the time of the Axumite period in Ethiopian history that Christianity became the 'official' faith of Ethiopia after the king converted to the faith, although it had likely been present for quite some time.
Blessed love.

Give thanks for the link Prophet. Archeology has always been an interest of mine and the story of Nubia that is now drowned behind the Aswan dam is something I have wanted to look into ever since I visited the area a few years ago. Have to say this is the first I have heard of a Christian Nubian nation so that will be an interesting read.
Blessed love.
