InI do not overstand why HIM Haile Selassie I King of Kings did not take the Nazarite vow and took the razor and comb to his hair? Is there a reason why He did not follow this rule, and how can those who are strict about the locks not be upset about this?  Huh? I apologize for my lack of overstanding.   :-\

You don't need dreads to be a Rasta. Prophet Gad (the one who founded the Twelve Tribes of Israel) also didn't have dreads. As not everyone with dreads is a Rasta, not everyone who is a Rasta has dreads. Dreads are a way to assure the connection of a Rasta with the nature, along the Ital diet and other things. But it's not like you MUST have dreads to be a  Rasta. Since H.I.M. was the most high, he didn't need dreads to be close to the nature.

InI give thanks for the quick response. I do not have dreads either, and the main reason for this question is because InI have read that Haile Selassie was a strict follower of the bible, but have also seen reasoning on this site to suggest HIM did not trust fully in the bible but rather trust in Jah alone. Thanks for the insight.
One Love.

When thinking about whether His Majesty trusted in the scriptures, it is best to ask HIM personally...

"Today man sees all his hopes and aspirations crumbling before him. He is perplexed and knows not whither he is drifting. But he must realise that the Bible is his refuge, and the rallying point for all humanity. In it man will find the solution of his present difficulties and guidance for his future action, and unless he accepts with clear conscience the Bible and its great Message, he cannot hope for salvation. For my part I glory in the Bible."

Yes you might want to use that quote to advance your misunderstanding, but remember even if a this you a rely pon, you have to accept it's not the King James Bible that H.I.M. a quote, or for that matter referring to.

If you think ras is about imitating the appearance of HIM Haile Selassie I you got things to learn still.

Ithiopia is a christian nation yet HE instated a constitution. HIM accept people yet hold firm to his faith.

When HIM say he glory in the bible it is because it says "praise the LORD".

H.I.M said
Quote
WE IN ETHIOPIA HAVE ONE OF THE OLDEST VERSIONS OF THE BIBLE, but however old the version may be, in whatever language it might be written, the Word remains one and the same. It transcends all boundaries of empires and all conceptions of race. It is eternal.

Seems to me he was including the KJV too.

I don't see what your point is about His Majesty installing a Constitution. The bit a highlighted is your opinion. It is obvious from H.I.M speeches and life in general that He was a devote Christian, to claim otherwise is to deny the facts.

From the above it seems he also saw the King James Version as authentic.

To see the point you have to check the topic too. There is no denying HIM is a christian yet the constitution accept people of different faith. What HIM is dictating is love, respect and overstanding. That is you don't have to be a christian to follow the rules that say don't kill, don't steal, love your neighbor etc.
