Ganja is not a drug. Drug is a Babylon label for the particular psychotropic substances they choose to make illegal.
Shamanism is a whole next thing to RasTafarI. I don't see one as better than another, however InI would say it is impossible to live in the ways of both. By this I mean, the essential truths within the faith would both lead to JAH but in different ways i.e. you cannot walk two paths at once.
If Shamanism includes use of psychotropic substances for spiritual purposes, so be it.
However, if you stay on Rasta trod: You say that 2c-I helped you to quit smoking and be less tempted by women. You do not need a substance for that. You need JAH, prayer, persistance, strength for that. The substance is temporarily changing your thought patterns through your nervous system. JAH can change your thought patterns permanently, through your faith and hard work. Also, in I sight, herb is to only be used for certain purposes, as if we were meant to be in that state all of the time, JAH would have created us that way - so you cannot rely on any substance to produce good behaviour, it is a lazy shortcut that creates an imitation. That extends to many substances, for example getting no sleep and drinking caffeine as a substitute - you have created artificial alertness. With 2c-I you have created artificial will-power and artificial sexual purity.
I advice is to step away from all 'drugs' and Ganja at this time. Step away from Shamanism, step away from the EXTERNAL human aspects of RasTafarI. Spend some time connecting with JAH, through nature, through music, through silence. Ask Jah to grant you with wisdom and strength regarding the cigarettes and women, and focus on that and treating your body well (eat Ital, sleep good). When you have conquered the cigarette and sexual desire with Jah as your guide, maybe then you will overstand the right use of Ganja.
Jah bless
Thanks very much for your post!
I like your opinion about the herb
Herb is my downfall because I lose my confidence and I feel like I'm accidentally "rude" to people. Most of my life I was quite outspoken so I'm used to that situation but now people seem to actually care about what I'm thinking and I'm starting to learn life from a different perspective.
It sounds like a good idea to step away from Shamanism.
I do follow Ital somewhat, other than margarine on my brown rice. I also eat sea salt rarely. My food isn't always organic. I want to start eating fish for the dietary iodine. I do eat LOTS of hemp seeds though for protein ^_^.
I am doing pretty good when it comes to sexual purity although occasionally I still have thoughts about a women particularly when I woke up in the morning. I know I should end these thoughts but I am naturally a pretty weak person.
Your words about prayer were helpful to me.
