Hey,

I ask this because I was robbed at knife point in my own home a few days ago by 2 men.
They robbed me of £7000 and have messed up my plans for the future.
These people are part of a gang that go around doing this kind of thing, I feel like if I go to the police, they won't do anything and these guys with come back.
I am planning on moving out of my home as I do not feel safe there anymore, they have ruined everything.
I know what they look like, I have found out their names and addresses and I feel like they should pay for what they did to me.

(They have robbed someone else I know, they make threats and intimidate people so they don't do anything about it)

Thanks

Killing is never justified. It can be justified only if your own life is in danger, but not like in this situation. Why not try with the police first?

Killing is never right, but if you can stop them doing this without killing then its a good thing. They are hurting people and should be confronted. Be careful if you do though. InI can defend Iself still without killing.

They sound like some right devils...

If the I knows who they are then no one would blame the I for  going to the police, but I can see exactly why the I doesn't want to do that. Even if they do get put away, they'd be able to get word out and it might put the I in danger if they have friends just as evil as them.
If the I can do it anonymously, the police might be the best option. When it comes to robbing people of £7000 at knifepoint, they might actually take the I seriously.

Killing them won't solve anything, even if the could do it with no repercussions. Like it has already been said, unless the  I's life is in danger, killing can't be justified by I  and I. Though that isn't to say that the I couldn't give them what was coming to them if the I thinks their friends won't be an issue...

Blessed love.

Killing can never be justified, and although I overstand how upset you must be, you must realise that no-one's life is worth only £7000.  Death is a serious business and no person must ever think they can take the role of Jah or upset the order of the universe in deciding when another's life ends.

I have also lived in areas where people terrorise the lives of others and are not stopped.  Where I lived there was a huge cycle of pain, negativity and destruction running through the lives of many people and as part of my works I am working on things that will change the lives of the future generations and teach them right from wrong.

You never asked for any of this, you do not deserve this, but you live in Babylon, this is what happens in Babylon.  Things like this have happened to me before.  The only thing you can do is pick yourself back up again, move forward and start again, making sure you are blameless in your behaviour.  I know how hard this is but I think it is your only option.  If, however, you see them repeating their actions amongst other people you know I would advise people grouping together in a self-defense if that is at all possible.

I know how hard it is in this kind of situation to not take an Us-vs-Them approach but really that kind of thinking is not conducive to what RasTafarI is trying to achieve, and going to the police is the ultimate manifestation of that mindset.

All of that said, I am very sorry that you went through such a bad experience and I hope that you recover well from it.

Jah bless

This may not be a lot of help in the short term but certainly in the long term community is the answer. You say these individuals are a part of a 'gang'? A gang, a collective of people. You must create friendships and unity around where you live. Whereas two men with weapons can quite easily take what they will from one man without, two men with weapons will struggle to rob 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 men who are willing to stand in their way. It's simple natural to search for the path of least resistance, make sure that your path is the path of most resistance.

As I said before this is a long term option and it can be difficult to create a group such as this quickly, but it is what must inevitably be done. Take inspiration from the Bobo Ashanti community's of Jamaica who have managed to live in self contained community's with little friction from the violence and evilness that goes on around them.

Community is Key brother.

Unity!

As for the police, as a short term solution this could work well. It could also give you the vital time needed to start your unified community against violence and crime and wrong doing. But be aware, they may well be back. Man is a political animal. Use Your words and the strength that comes with numbers.

Much love brother, I hope all works out and you find a way to deal with this problem.

Love, peace and Unity.
