Title: My House
Post by: Rasta Nick on August 12, 2005, 12:51:08 AM
Greetings,

If you read the site history (http://www.rasta-man.co.uk/about.htm) you will see that one of the reasons this site came about was because of the numerous questions I was asked about the Rastafarian religion. .... I have also been asked why I no longer reason with the members of this forum......

... Anyways in an effort to keep things real here ... and to encourage all the members to stand by their words I have created this section so any member can start a thread and ask me anything they want .. be it about the running of the forum, my opinions on any posts or ...well anything you want to ask really.

So here's a (bad) picture of me (It helps if you can see who you are talking to) and it is good to remember that everybody who posts here is a real person with real feelings ...and responsibilities etc!

(http://forums.rasta-man.co.uk/pics/nick_.jpg)I will endevour to answer any questions posted here as soon as possible but cannot guarantee an immediate response.

The rules (http://forums.rasta-man.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=forum_rules) still apply so lets step away from the insults or preaching cos I may get all upset and ban ya *lol*

Ok so any questions? Fire away .. mind you I prefer a peaceful life .. so why am I doing this ???

JahJah's Blessings Rasta Nick

The I only recently joined your Forum.  InI know the stress involved in holding down the forth.  After searching through many options the I had a desire to try out your Forum.  Reading up on past threads over the years InI note that you've felt your share of pressure.  InI wanting to let the I know that InI hope not to add any more pressure on the I and the I's work here.  If the I notices any additional stress due to I's thread and comments on the Forum, notify InI and InI wall attempt to correct the situation.  On another note, InI don't conduct business online in any fashion but InI notice that funding may be an issuse the I dealing with.  If the I wishes, contact me via EMail and InI would love to know more about what the I need in regards to support to continue the I's work.  Information on ways in which the I looking for support will be helpful.  Overall, Nuff respect in carrying this burden.

Greetings of Love Bredren, Hope all is Irie in life, and want to Give Love for the forum still.
I know that this topic has come up so many times but, lets go round one more time.  Nuff time is spent on the dealings of One person, when it is suposed to be larger than that!.  I am not speaking of HIM, no, I am specifically speaking of Elijah (more recently, who a dem).
Long time now the site has seen the valuable elders leave for nuff of them get tired with the vainful, arrogant and HOSTILE words of this young man of 27.  It seems indeed ludicrous that the self proclaimed fountian head of the faith rests with this spiteful and vile attitude.  We have gone through this before, but what is damaging is the vital reasoning is being HI~JACKED by the posts always winding up about him.  I am tired of it. We, are tired of it. It is not the way of Rastafari.
We are here to share this space the I has so Graciously Created for all Jah people to come free and strong.  Learn the ways of the trod and DO WORKS out in the world and within our selves become more usefull to collectivly network toward SOLUTIONS.
  Recently, there was a very shocking occurance and it was also offensive on the World of JAH Rasta site.  Bredren Soundjata( Iriginator of that site) is probably just as busy as the I, and not able to follow all threads, but when time a come for the Wicked to be put in place, please accept this take from that site as a way of dealing with this disruptor;

"5am Iate night, Iman feeling tired, but probably not more than the Is who had to put up with bredren a who dem (who s been banned from this forum). Thanks to the post of de warriyah, I was able to read through all of a who dem 's posts, and iman was shocked by the comments the I made on this site. I am truly sorry for the Is going through all this, standing up to the I's disraspect for months while I didnt keep up with the reasonings and didnt spot any of his ways. Even its first reasonings on this site would have deserved a warning, and the community gave the I this warning numerous times. I found a post of Menace dating from November telling a who dem to leave the woj if he doesnt like the woj. A who dem was at the time already disraspectful, even towards the Elders and the Sistrens. Free speech is a funny icept, and deeply it is hardly applicable as any knowledge is subjective and free speech in fact depends on the current discourse. The woj does not claim to promote free speech nor objectivity, as beings of flesh we are purely subjective. But free speech doesnt mean free-disraspect. InI have a duty to give due respect to the Sistrens here who carry idrens, the young strong bredrens and the elders that inspire InI. And beyond the Rasta imunity people from all walks of life visit these pages for various purposes. Some non-rasta stumble on these pages looking for info on nutrition, others enjoy nothing but reading the poetry. These people deserve too to be raspected, and greeted with peace, blessings and love.

In order to avoid stirring up more un-productivity Iman have closed this discussion for replies. If u wish to reason some more on this matter privately or for a positive link up, please feel free to send I a message

Giving thanks
soundjata         "

With the freedom we are given also come responsibility.  We learn this as childern as we grow.  We also learn respect for others views and are given the choice to allow others this equal freedom, and expect it in return!.  If not, we always get problems and it leads to ones of Higher overstandings to just step onward because it is fruitless to water a dead plant.  Still, JAH may will the withered tree back to life, and it would be sweet fruit as ever when it come around.  There has been a great effort into this member, and better ones than I are able to expound on the attempts at reasoning, for I try and keep it UPful and not resolve to the tactics of ridicule and scorn.
Please let us forward for a while without this friction on this site, for it was once far more powerful than it stand right now.  If it could help at all, possibly a poll regarding the ouster of this egoist.  We have not seen Humble yet strong back here for some time, and it was last we spoke that we were discussing what to do to stop this Negativity in the name of His Majesty.  It is an insult!.
If the I has not yet done so, please feel free to visit World of JAH.  There, the I will find a different vibe, one that I can see once exsisted here.  It is sad to see the number of posts that this member has relative to the number of helpful or positive "teachings " or "reasonings" he could offer.  It always goes in the direction of conflict, he is right and EVERYONE is wrong.  It should not be so.

I regret to have to burden the I with this, something we should be able to suss out, but we need you.
  Nuff love.
surf.

Greetings Surfmon_I,

You have raised some very valid points here. It does seem that rather than using the ignore function people do still get drawn into small mindedness.

This forum is what the members make it, and many members words have been far from Rasta, far from positive, far from uplifting. Yet this is not a battle of words, nor a battle of minds. If someone wishes to say they are righteous and have studied deeply and can justify their words with quotes and examples from various places then so be it. If that person wishes to tell me how wrong or stupid I am so be it. Why? Because they only know about them and their experiences. Their experiences and interpretations have no relevance to my life unless I choose to take anything said or written onboard. Otherwise they are just more words and opinions thrown into the breeze. Everybody has something to say about something. When you check upon people and how we are, most of us keep talking long after our speech has ended - maybe it is incase somebody is actually still listening.

Rasta, like most other ways of thinking is a battle with the self. Perhaps Elijah needs this to progress within himself (although I am sure that he will say different and quite rightly so - only he knows how he feels about things).

The way forward from here .......?? One simple solution is to ACTUALLY and ACTIVELY SHOW RESPECT FOR EACH!! I doubt that is possible though because it would involve tolerance and overstanding which apparently if you read the posts here is not the Rasta why ...apparently we should smite all those who do not adhere to our strict rules. Apparently ignorance of these rules is no excuse, we should still be cursed or attacked for our lack of knowledge - Doesn't sound very Rasta to me.

I will ponder upon the situation for another week and see what occurs.

Enjoy every moment of each day people ... They only happen once.

Love to you all
Nick

Actually Ignorance has never been problem enough to warrant smiting, ARROGANCE on the other hand, the unwillingness to transparently acknowledge and ACCEPT where one is Ignorant is a function of a False Pride Babylon that I and I Rastafari, the few standing against the hoardes, online and in real life, will ALWAYS burn to Ash, Without Apology.

I watch my children and grandchildren grow. Their innocence and unquestioning love guides, and uplifts me. Just as I attempt to guide and uplift them. Whilst outside nature does it's thing and produces food and water to sustain. Let those who wish to cry over spilled milk cry for that is what they wish to do. Let the complainers complain for if they had nothing to complain about their life would be empty and let the joyous be joyous since we need a balance to appreciate the whole.

Enjoy the moments that fly past since this is YOUR TIME. Spend it how you choose and enjoy.

Love you all without question.
Nick

Seems to I that guiding children relates more to arranging a place and way for them to drink milk where it would not so easily be spilled that acknowledges their loss instead of dismissing their lamentation as "opposed" to joy while taking no responsibility.

Blessings Rasta Nick,

I am very thankful you took time to post up this site, I am the only Rasta living in my area, and am greatly incoureged by seeing all these brothers and sisters with the same religion, it really boosts my faith to have someone with the same belifes to talk to.
I am often ridiculed because I am whit and am rasta, my freinds say it is an excuse to smoke pot, and never listin when I try to explain myself.

It is truely touching and uplifting to see this site!

Thank you, blessings, and praise Jah! ;)
