Title: International Reggae, Democratic Socialism and the Secularization of the Rastafa
Post by: kaaria on October 25, 2008, 04:56:56 PM
:-\ I really need your help guys, i used to be on this forum ALL THE TIME 4 years ago and i dought anyone is still here that i used to know back then.

anyways, ive been on a research mission to find out what were Haile Selassie's domestic policies.   Since i left this forum i became a sociology major and i love the work of Karl Marx, (no not the ussr, the ussr was what we political scientist call state capitalism)

So really i have 2 questions.  1) DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND International Reggae, Democratic Socialism and the Secularization of the Rastafarian Movement, 1972-1980 by Stephen A.  King!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and for the people that know ethoipian history and/or have read "my life and ethiopia's progress" 2) What were haile selassies domestic policies?

From the research i have done i have the impression that he was a African-styled Rousseau-Monarchist with, as implied by the use of the name Rousseau, Leftist or Marxist styled Land reforms and a progressive tax system.  (Not to be confused with the later "communist" USSR-style state capitalism revolution (a wolf in sheep clothing if you will) which overthrew his state. )
