Ye man

your hair wont dread if it is dirty!!
!

seriously rasta.

You need to wash your hair with  residue free shampoo!

you could backcomb, and use products from DreadheadHQ or Knotty boy for dreads

got a natural residue free shampoo. it helps.

now my hair is real long and thick as hell. dread process should be fine . only problem is its summer, Ini just graduated and need to make money for school. I work already catering and this process will most likely create some friction

Bredren, just wrap it up neatly or cover.  For years Iman pulled all hair to the back of head and wrapped in a type of bun, while wet and tied it off with itself.  being wet and drying this way will stay cool and dry tight.  no worries, respectful, neat and humble.
