2005-great year in Reggae Roots
« on: March 28, 2005, 08:01:29 PM »

I don't know about you, but I am so excited about the current blend of Roots/Culture/conscious Reggae coming out of Jamaica right now.

There was a time that I only listened to the "standard" carriers of the flame: Luciano, Capelton, Marley, Burning Spear, etc.

Now, everything I hear I love!

Chuck Fenda--I Sware!
I Wayne--Living in Love;
Richie Spice--continuing to come out with more and more
Sizzla--The new standard for the youth--how many CDs will he release this year?  [smiley=smiley.gif]
Gentleman--"Dem Gone!"
Fanton Mojo -- "Hungry
Morgan Heritage -- continues to stay in touch with the changing times
Jah Cure--many
Bushman . . .

The list goes on and on.  Is it me or did reggae kick it up a notch this last year or so?

It is all good news in my book!  The message is coming through loud and clear!

(Can't wait for a real release from I Wayne!)
