Ska/Punk

Anyone out there enjoy ska/punk?
personally i've found a lot of ska/punk bands are really good but don't get much recognition because they sound like 'a bunch of noise'

less than jake is a good band.. they've been around for a long time..
i also like the voodoo glow skulls, even though the singer sounds kind of messed up LOL
they have AWESOME breakdowns from very fast verses and choruses... AWESOME breakdowns, and some of the best trumpets i've heard on a recording..
ska/punk kind of puts that whole punk demeanor in a new light... they are more pleasant, not so much screaming (though they do their share), and more up-beat music..
one that is very dark is choking victim.. they aren't a band anymore but were great while they lasted... not very up-beat, pretty gloomy and they scream a lot, but if you're into heavier music they are a great blend of ska/punk/metal and they speak the truth about lots of things...

to tell you the truth i despise punk, ska, emo, country....
i think that alot of those bands have no talent, except maby the singer is good at what he dose but i think as them being muscians that is a very bad way to show music to me.

sorry if i affended you but everyone has there own taste in music

I bought a CD while ago that was a compilation of old school ska songs..I'm talking straight out of the dancehalls way back when.  It was really good, had some of the early versions of the Wailers on it.  I think it was called Island ska party or something.  I wish I still had it!  if you like the old school sounding ska, hepcat has that vibe going.  Besides that, I am way over the pop ska that was the big rage a few years back.

Greetings!

As far as I'm concerned I love Ska. Not the Ska-Punk music (less than jake, catch 22, voodoo glow skulls, etc) but the ORIGINAL Ska.
Jamaica Ska like The Skatalites, early Wailers tunes, Prince Buster, Laurel Aitken, Don Drummond, Desmond Dekker, The Busters, Dr. Ring Ding & The Senior Allstars, .... and also Two Tone Ska like The Selector, Bad Manners, The Specials, and so on.

Ska-Punk is a mix I also despise, because often it is only Punk with Brass. And that sounds really worse.

JAH LOVE

Skatalites are the ultimate ska band who backed the early wailers recordings. The instrumentation is trully beautiful and is the best quality jamaican ska i have ever heard.

Roots reggae is also crucial
