Great read by Alan Duff, tells the story of a poor Maori family in a small town. If anybody doesn't know what a Maori is where the natives of New Zealand.

Ha sure bredren, see I'm only half Maori but since I was raised by I Maori mother alone and don't know anything really about I fathers culture I consider Iself a Maori. Sadly in New Zealand many of I people feel persecuted and abused by society so they turn to crime in the same way many Black Americans do. Since I grew up in a situation very similar to the story I have a very strong connection to it but I think the I should give it a ready anyway.
