Can We As Rastas Be Gay & Still Heartical?
« on: May 26, 2008, 12:29:19 AM »

Greetings,

So as I was iditating today with my ganja & a lickle music - I wondered - "Can Rastas be gay?"

I always thought homosexuality was wrong - but I've seen several important documentaries on television that say it's actually natural. Also, there have been rumors that some of Rastafari's most prominent modern figures are at least somewhat homosexual. Like Beenie Man for example.

So where does this leave us bredrens & sistrens? Should we open the gate to battyboys & gals in the dancehall, or should we stay true to true Ganja woman & child?

Wha yu seh?

Bless my brother

You must learn to read up in the archive. This is one of the most reasoned topics on every RasTafari/reggae forums, so just start to read and get wise.
One thing is sure, there is not any popular reggae artist today, that I know of, that is an homosexual..

Jah forbid homosexuality. But it doesnt mean we should hate them, they still humans and should be loved as humans, One love yuh know. But homosexuality is wrong. Jah create man and woman to reproduce. Man and man or woman and woman cyaan reproduce together. Even flowers need opposite sex to reproduce. A key cant go into a key, a key needs a lock, and then it can open it, seen?
Its very simple.. Look at what can be done. Only a woman and a man together can give birth to a child.
Then so shall it be, and anything else should not be, because it cyaan make the world go on as Jah intended it to. Blessed love.

For I personally Iman don't deal with either; homosex nor homohate.
Iman read the scriptures as the law is meant for I&I bredren, the army, the believers, not the heathen. So if the Ible is right, then it is only a problem in I&I congregation, rasta, jew, christian, muslim, what you may call yourself.

I don't deal with hatred and oppression, in the matter, I have seen some of I Rasta Idren do. I don't "fight" them in any manner. Some fight them with direct violence, beatings. Some chase them. Or just call them "battybwoy" or sissies. G-d is the one to judge Iman and I fellow humans.
Also, Iman don't sight it only as a direct choice, as some say "they can just choose a girl instead of a boy", I don't sight that. I see that it has something to do with their childhood, life experiences and so on. I don't think it can be possible to fight them.

And one thing, for I christian brother & sistren; Let the one without sin cast the first stone. ALWAYS remember.

Iman a young lion, not a young oppressor, hater, murderer, basher. I&I don't deal with death lifestyle. G-d is the teacher, we are the students, He is the judge over all (wo)/mankind.

You can be gay and not have sex.

I shouldn't know what someone else is doing in their own room, should I?

No one sin is judged greater than any other, is it?

John lists gossips right along with murderers and thieves.

So until someone finds me a blameless man or woman of any faith, I would have to say that yes you CAN be gay and be Rasta.

Isn't the point to grow constantly closer to God???

As to homosexuality being "natural", in that people are born with it, people are also born pedophiles and sociopaths.
That doesn't make either pedophilia or sociopathy acceptable or normal.

Wait, maybe these days it does.

Ises,
When one and ones are dealing with Rastafari livity, it is impossible to place the unnatural within the natural.  Iration is the highest livity.

homosexuality is one of the Babylonians thing,
for Us it is really a big trouble...And in my whole life I didnt see or even notice a brethren be a "gay"
The Most High created us with one specified gender in that is
a Male and a Female...
its written in the Holy Book
I may be judgery but I man sayin the truth...

Yes I brethren, Iman agree
but still, this is not arguments for fighting them, the heathens, atheist & pagans in any way.
Well, I wouldn't say that it is a Babylon-thing, because it has been a part of all cultures in the world ever since. There has almost always been homosexuals, so it is not a "new" thing -
I am just saying that bashing and beating is evil in the eyes of The Most High.
And to call them names, is primitive, like in kinder garden.
