a while back i heard that members of the NOI change there surname to x so they can get rid of there slave name and i do agree with this but instead of the x it should be an i (for selassieI) what do ini think

Do you know what the "x" represents ? Find out. Then you will know why they use it. It is pure mathematics.

its used to iplace their slave name and it ipresents their ifrican name they forgot right?

Yes and no. The X does represent the surname but, only because the real surname has been lost (you can find out how if u really want to = research). One thing I can tell you - It was not done in a friendly or nice way and it was done for a reason. The X therefor represents the unknown. And if you do not know who you are....well....
