How Do You Act When Facing Racism?
« on: March 08, 2009, 10:07:59 PM »

Greetings In The Name Of Emperor Haile Selassie I,
Israel is a land filled with many different religions&people, we got white Jews, black Jews, middle eastern Jews, Muslim Arabs, Christian Arabs, Bedouins and so many more, unfortunately its also a land filled with hate toward the different and InI am facing racism on a daily basis, toward each and everyone of those that Iman have mentioned, as a human, and specially as a Ras this is obviously troubling I, when InI try to confront those people and put some sense into them its usually to no use(usually in a pleasant way), and Iman only end up filled with anger and negative vibes, on the other hand when InI "ignore" such comments&actions Iman end up with all that anger pinned down inside, and in a sense angry bout Iself for not doing anything and "accepting"  it, so what do the I's do when facing such situations? is there really anything to do?

Jah Bless,
Ras Saadon.

speak the truth, speak it ever,
cause it what it will
Ras Saadon, the man spirit is obviously not satisfied with the way racist people are dealing with the I, so as a Ras once said to I,  "rasta always find a new way to do something, even if it's cooking a pot of food". H.I.M. said that according to a certain precedent in the world, "we must speak boldly, in blunt terms of right and wrong."

more fiyah love.
Let your tongue burn a fiyah without being wild and out of control. Say waht must be said -  nothing more, nothing less, and in a way which preserves the dignity of the other.

do NOT reward evil for evil

Ras Saadon,
What you describe is certainly a difficult situation to be in
and you are such a thoughtful and gentle person it disturbs me to hear
you're in it.
We all know racism is still a major issue all over the world,
And the tensions that are rampant in your part of the world
would surely exaserbate that issue.
The first thing people tend to do when things go wrong is look for
someone to blame.
People of a different race or belief are usually the first target.
I wish I had something I felt was constructive to offer as a reply.
All I've come up with though is that sometimes the only victory we can hope for is in how we conduct ourselves in the face of adversity.
I have no doubt you do this already.
I will always give you my compassion and support in this struggle we face.
I would think the victories you'd see in this situation are most often small.
I would also think that picking and chosing your battles is probably the best way to reduce the stress you get.
I do hope that even if there are few who are willing to see what you say
that these are brought to you so that you may have others to share the struggle with.
I think I should also keep your safety in my thoughs more often.
You're a good man who is a blessing to us and I wish you safe always

Bless Bredda, do your best it's all anyone can ask

I an I white american, never faced rasicm.

However my anscestors were burned up in'a the holocaust.

Love is the highest cause, love is the strongest weapon.

face rasicm with LOVE, breddah. You must Overstand that they are confused  and hurting, otherwise they would not treat another race with anything but love.

Israel is so beautiful, I lived in haifa for a few months many year ago, you are a lucky soul to live where Jesus walked.

Bless up!
