Chi means 'energy'

Kung means 'working with', 'developing', or 'cultivating'.

Chi Kung means 'working with energy', 'developing energy' or 'cultivating energy'.

Chi Kung may be one of the most important things you ever learn.  It has the power to transform your life, and, indeed, the whole of Western society.  It could revolutionize what we think we are, how we think we work, and our relationship to each other and to the natural environment.  It could change how we understand ourselves and live our lives.  It has the potential to make us happy and to make us alive with energy.
The Chi Kung Way, by James MacRitchie

--a third hand source, maybe 4th or 5th.  Academic.  Culture (cultivation) has divine origin through energy and god in all things.  Has anyone done any study into the word/sound/power of Chi?  I found that "Chi", "Cheee" is established in ancient wordsound for divine energy/omnipresence in African theology.  If anyone with knowledge has anyway to help illuminate this, please do.
