imitations
« on: June 05, 2010, 09:22:09 PM »

Hi,

This has been brewing up inside me for a while now,

Please can I ask why people feel the need to imitate Rasta dreads and feel that it would be "cool" to dress up as Rasta on Halloween?

If this was from the Muslim faith and people were imitating them with vales then they would take offenders to court for discrimination

So why do people disrespect us?

Bless  ???

Ini find that it is mostly peoples ignorance of Rasta to cause them to do so. The people who do these things see Rasta as people who are either wearing "Jamaica colours" or "stoner colours", and don't take into account that it is actually religious.

Bless Up

Greetings Bredren,

InI also find it offensive, people these days are ignorant to the enlightened ones and find it funny to mock other ways of life that they do not overstand or know about.

greetings

Thank you both for the quick replies and i am very happy that i am not alone on this subject

The things that annoy me most are the fake dread wigs and hats that people seem to think is OK to wear

blessings and thank you
i wish you both the best of health and the best of days

Ever heard...Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.  Perhaps we should look at how and why this annoys us and release preconcieved attachment to resentment of such imitators.

  Indeed surfmon,
InI realized that I am being judgemental of the people who do so.
judging those individuals is the same as them judging I.
No man has the right to judge another man.

It is good to see that we are able to look at the way we interact with others and adjust with love and humility, it is food for growth.
What I mean Ben is that when we have expectation of others, what it amounts to is preconcieved resentment.  If we try to look from anothers perspective with our own eyes we only see our lives.  We are not exercising compassion for the direction the others are coming from .

We could see the situation as a chance for enlightening the ignorant, at least as much as we have grown to see this Blessed Light.

Be Blessed, JAH be our Guide.
